I notice that most of the photos in here are of "things", whereas when I look back through my photos, the ones I look at most are of people (friends/relatives) and places we met up. But I suppose things are more easily appreciated by other people.

Cheers for feedback guys, not had much time for this recently but am enjoying it and really find myself looking at things through different eyes now.
funkydan - that black and white shot is great, really stands out!
Spatial - love those shots, where is the 3rd one? Looks awesome!
Gonna send a few off to that Amateur Photography site, worth a shot!

Was thinking of maybe a d60 now or maybe just sell my kidneys and get a d90...) on here to see what the results can be like.

I would recommend an entry-level Canon model, such as the 450D, as they seem to have the best low-light capability. I went for a 400D, and I was certainly very pleased with my choice. But any modern camera will give you decent results tbh. Canon & Nikon are the best options for lens choice and eventual trading up to better camera bodies, with Sony coming in a bit behind.

Herbalizer - good stuff - that first one is lovely.
Boris - took me a minute to spot your lady..
Drunken Monkey - nice bird. Was that on holiday or somewhere local ?
Charles - I also have a lot of family type photos, but I guess people would be more interested in less 'personal' stuff ?
boxhead - agree with the others - you can't really go wrong with any entry level DSLR these days.
A few from a place I used to visit as a kid..
The vignette looks a bit heavy on this one, but I was using a circular polariser at the time.

Need some help guys.
It's my mum's birthday this wednesday (I know i've left it late) and I thought as she loves pink flowers I would take a picture of some in our garden considering I now have a DSLR to take decent quality photos. I'm going to upload them to Boots online website and they can send them next day so I should have the pictures by Tuesday.
Now, I have a Sony A200 which has 12.2mp. I would like to be able to print the photo at a fairly large size bigger than A4 but smaller than A3. But I also want the print to be a square, not a 'widscreen' photo.
Could anyone please advise on the best size of print to choose and wether or not my camera be able to produce a good looking image at the size of print I want. If anyone has some more tips on printing my photos and how to get the best result then that would be helpful too.
Any help appreciated photographers.

Malc - I don't print anyway near enough stuff as I should, so am no expert, but looking at the Boots site (which seems to be identical to the print place I use - photobox - maybe Boots outsource ?) they only seem to do one square size poster print, which is 12 inches by 12 inches (unless you want a canvas print).
I am pretty sure that your camera will be more than fine in producing an image to be printed at that size.
This link might help with regards to getting the best quality.
Hope that helps..
