I'll be at Focus this year, as I've pre-registered I'll be getting my ticket sometime this month (for free - the joys of owning your own multi media corporation ). Not too sure which day I'll go. Normally the Sunday is very busy, not the best day if you want to try kit out.

Bargains aren't too bad, got my 1D Mk3 for around £500 off the nearest street price the other year (then took it back to Jacobs as it had issues).

Eos 5D 300mm X 1.4ex (420mm) shots vary from 1/40 to 1/80 all f/5.6 IS very much working !

Robin was very very close, so close I couldn't focus at times. Quite a patient little fellow though

Really like that sunset pic, as has already been said it's the simplicity of it that makes it work so well.

This month's Amateur Photographer comp is opposites - I came up with this concept entitled "Glass Half Empty, Glass Half Full"



I've cheated a bit as it's a clone, I need to get some dyes and do it properly, but wanted to post the pic before someone else thought of the idea.

Can someone recommend a bulk image tag editing tool (Ideally free)? I have thousands of pictures that I need to go back through and tag, and the Windows interface for doing it is horrible and pretty much means I'll need to go through them one by one.

I imagine you can do so in Picasa, but I haven't touched it for years so I'm not sure. Microsoft Expression Media 2 (formerly iView Media Pro) is excellent for tagging, as is Lightroom, but neither are free. I'm sure there are loads of other solutions out there.

I've been playing about with flower pics with a difference, there are a couple of rounds in the Amateur Photographer competitions that they might fit into. Just wanted something a little different

What's the score with the AP comp - can you take shots at any time in the year and submit during the relevant rounds ? Was reading about it yesterday and wasn't sure if you need to take the shots during the rounds themselves..
