Ah ok, maybe it isn't a bridge camera (you know me, I never really knew anything about the technical side of things!), but it is a great smallish camera which gives very good results, which is exactly what I wanted - and needed.

I now need to get a zoom for it next, just need to decide which zoom to get!

Spatial101 - that's a great lead in - the figures at the gates make the shot for me.

Spacemonkey - some great stuff there, particularly #3, 5 and 7. Are there some artefacts in the last few though ? Looks like the sort of place I'd like to spend a few days there..

Thanks Garf, yeah the quality of the original images was horrible. They were all hand held shot while zooming, then I cropped right into a few of them too so the noise and blur really showed. I had my first go of processing (using iPhoto) hence my ham fisted lack of subtlety. I enjoyed it though and now thinking of getting some better software and a tripod. Skye and the road up there is really atmospheric, anywhere you point the camera you see something worth photographing, can definitely recommend it.

These are very good if they were handheld, but yeah, getting a tripod is a great idea especially if you have all this close by !

If you have a Mac, and want some better software, Aperture 3 is worth a look (it's what I use) and is a massive bargain at ?45 on the App store (or it was, worth checking).

Cracking place Skye, tragic thing is the only time I went there I didn't have a decent camera. Think most of my old Skye pics were taken on a fairly crap 2.1mp Sony mistake I bought.

                Anyway, a tree from earlier...

Sky wasn't that dark, a combination of ND2+4 filters and Lightroom helped. I must get an ND10

To be honest it was the main reason for the trip out to take the shot!

Though, applied the same look to this one.....
