I like the first one too fuse.

Sorry to burst your bubble a bit Dan but unless that lens is VR(is that right for Nikon? Image stabilised, you know) then the sort of shutter speeds you'll be needing at f2.8 (as low as 1/50 even at ISO 1600) in a dark venue (regardless of the lighting) and 150mm will result in blurry shots due to the accentuated camera shake that a long lens produces. I'm not one for shooting tele lenses at gigs as they are just too hard work. If it is VR though then you're laughing, all the pros at the Great Escape that shot with tele lenses were using IS or VR.

Speaking of VR - I had my zoom on my camera last night and forgot to turn the VR off when I put it on my tripod. Took me a while to figure out what the hell was going on with my shots!

Speaking of VR - I've literally just blown two months wage on a new toy. Should be here next week. What on earth is wrong with me?

You're turning into Marty as the next camera/lens obsessive?

So, which one? Spill the beans!

I know the feeling though. Having finally assembled my dream Leica set-up but getting bad back-focus issues I was still very close to forking out for a D300, 2 Zeiss lenses and a couple of zooms. Well over ?3000 worth.

I seem to have solved the focus problems for now but have to say that every now and then I get very tempted to sell all the Leica kit and go the DSLR route.

            Time will tell

This is the one I am borrowing - any good chaps? If not, maybe I'll just stick with my Nikon 18-135mm...

EDIT: Ooh, 5000th photography thread post!

If I had a proper job I'd be all over it. You have no idea of the amount of stuff I almost go into awful debt over. I had a bargain 40D (luckily) snatched from my grasp today.

Going to Austria for a week and a bit on Friday so, if the weather stays nice, should be a good opportunity to get some pictures.

Here's a few from a trip to Switzerland, Italy and France last year which I don't think I've posted before:

And a couple of recent ones from closer to home:

                      Like that first shot icarus0.

I like the reflection and B&W shot EB - the B&W one in particular is quite interesting as a composition with the strong lines.

                      An abstract from me ...

Thanks, I quite liked the boats and the cathedral, but the cathedral isn't quite sharp enough. I'll try it again tommorow.

I just realised I cropped the duck one way too much and it looks crap

I expect the street price to be a lot less. At the moment WHE probably have no idea what they can sell it for, so they stick a price on where they know they wont get caught out.

The Canon RRP for the body is £499 the 450D RRP is £600!

Oh, still nothing about the 5d update either. Though watch out for an announcement from Nikon!

(Full frame d400, d3x? who knows)

btw, cracking shots of late. I'll get round to taking some myself one day!

All of these are from 'The Cans Festival', the Banksy-organised exhibition in a tunnel down by Waterloo. Not great photos as such, but some cool subjects I thought some people might enjoy. All you other London-types should get down there!

                            Few more here.
