I know this thread is mainly for posting your own photos, but I must recommend to anyone who likes photography to check out this website every so often.

It's called Interface Lift, and features some astounding work. If you go to the website, it even automatically registers your monitors resolution, so you can download the photos to use as wallpapers imeediately.

Here are two photos taken by some of the photographers on that site.

A jet breaking the sound barrier, and a photo of a recent missile launch (once you've opened the links, click the download button underneath the picture to see it in fullscreen).

That website is depressing and inspiring in equal measures.

          Interesting idea Pete.

Pete, that's an awesome idea. The content doesn't quite live up to the concept, but I think it's well worth persevering with.

Haha, those are mostly super-slick. The headphones on the apple picture are a bit burnt-out for my liking. The love hearts pic feels a bit drab in comparison, and would probably benefit from some better lighting. But overall they're pretty well-done, and should definitely be on a stock photography site.

Particularly like the cassette tape one - works great in black & white.

Another month, another Amateur Photographer comp, the theme this time around is "Darkness and Light". Not entirely sure it fits, but I like the symmetry - I converted it to B&W for the comp, the flickr version I uploaded as from the camera.

ok cant take my DSLR to a concert in my pocket so i need to take the daughters camera. Any idea for settings on these things as i was battling all through the last concert trying to get the settings right. Tried the high ISO settings etc but nothing seemed really ok. I know i wont get a fantastic shot without fantastic equipment but i want to get something better than ok.

Anyone heading to Focus On Imaging this week? I popped in yesterday and as mentioned before, it was a madhouse! Some good deals on camera bodies with the best Canon 550D & kit lens price I've seen in the UK (£699). Some good talks from Adobe too.

I went to Focus yesterday, left before it got too mad (benefit of having a pre-regisitered account was I got in before most of the crowd). Might pop back in tomorrow to see if the 5D mkII or the 7D are at a decent discount.

Lots of excellent stuff in here again.

bwi - not sure if this is too late, but I am guessing you'll want to get the aperture as wide open as possible (if you can set it on the camera) and as you say, use a higher ISO. Gig photography isn't really my thing, so can't advise any more that that - sorry..

I keep hearing that Focus has been rammed every day so far - sounds like chaos. Lots of people seem to be getting good deals on stuff, which is good.

I haven't posted any photos in here for months, so here is some recent stuff - some from the city and some from the coast.

I seem to be obsessed with sea marker posts..

It was busy today, but not like Sunday

Saving aren't that great. ?100 off a 5D mk2, ?70 off a 7D. I'm popping back for the final hour tomorrow, maybe one of the retailers will go mad, maybe.

Cracking stuff, I must get out and shoot some things.

Not a fan of taking photos of people though I did get my first taster of shooting a professional model at Focus On Imaging last week:

Garf, Don't know why but I'm slightly obsessed with launderette shots, so great work!

I have been really busy the last few months (new job, wedding, honeymoon, trip back to the UK, etc) but have finally got round to processing some stuff. Here is the first, pretty unassuming but I really like it for some reason! Better big, as usual

And another... Definitely better larger. Too dark though maybe?
