More wonderful shots. This thread make you proud to own a camera!! Love the distortion from the Tornado engine, GT.

Stebbo, what lens did you use for the studio shots? Great job, by the way.

        Thanks for the comments guys.

I mainly used my Sigma 55-200, but for the close up shots I used the kit lens, a 17-55 - with a magnifying lens over the top, which allowed me to get really close.

Annoyingly, my 1.8 50mm beauty arrives today, I would have like to have tried that out too.

Great shots Stebbo, really excellent. Reminds me of the food photography video at youtube:

The only thing I would point out is that the edge of teh box looks worn...which the makers (if they are the client) will likely get annoyed by (I know from bitter experience)!

            Good work Stebbo.

            Nice shots as always GT.

Went to the beach yesterday, took quite a few but have only processed this so far.

I noticed the worn edge when it was too late, the client loved the pictures and cleared the proof first time! I'll post a pic of the finished cover later today.

Love the beach pic Alastair, really nice contrast.

Cool, as long as they are happy thats all that counts. More importantly, as I said earlier, great shots.

Nice pic Alastair. What lens were you using...strange hexagonal flares?

Surely Photoshop can get rid of the worn edges?

Canon kit lens (18-55) but with a polarising filter. Not sure what happened with the flares as they aren't usually that hexagonal.

I thought the kit has a rotating element so screws up a polariser?

EDIT:Of course you can manually focus it. Silly me.

Rip Off Britain?? Actually, those rebates are better than the Japanese versions. They only give 5,000 JPY (about 20 GBP) for the 70-200 IS!

Of course, the prices may be higher in the first place!
