Went to the Stamford Feastival today, but the buggers wouldn't let me back stage as I didn't have a pass, despite trying to blag I was from a local web site :/ Ah well, I did still manage to get a couple of okay shots.

And I got the marbles ...

        Very odd Ish.

I can't believe how lucky I was today. On a walk in Stanmer park I spotted this in the church graveyard. It seemed so tame and allowed me to get within about 5-6 feet of it. I thought it may have been injured but after I'd got the shots I wanted I went closer to check it was OK and it flew fine up onto the church roof. Still can't quite believe it!

Totally uncropped, just a tiny bit of USM.

Great detail Alastair - if anything I'd crop a bit tighter to emphasise it.

            Wonderful shot, Alastair. So sharp.

Yes, great shot. Might be tempted to burn the highlight out a little to the left of its head.

I don't normally do a lot of post processing on my pics, but I quite like what photoshop did to this rose pic

And I blasted the saturation in Picasa with this one

Some more experimentation. I decided to start using my beloved local live music venue (the Tunbridge wells Forum) as somewhere to practice:

bass D.I. box (grainy I know, but I like it)

One of the bands' acoustic guitars:

                  Some rather vicious play fighting!

I like 'em all There'll be some band shots soon

These are some shots of a band called The Servant that I took the other night (ISO 1600, 1/60th shutter speed - hence all the grain and noise. But it doesn't bother me as I think the subject lends itself to a bit if grit )

                    Is that Sean Hughes?

And this young lad was also playing on the same night. They call him Pete Briley and he hailed from Leeds - very talented and quite Turin Brakes-y

Very nice Dan, I like the one where the guitarist looks as if he's cricked his neck and is screaming in pain

Thanks, I think that's my fave too, aside from the play fight shot!

I love the second and third ones dan. The lighting is great.

Another shot from me. I've not really had the will to leave the house this weekend so its another household macro I'm afraid.

I got a corporate jolly to the Tour Prologue yesterday so tried out my new Nikon D40x, first pic is Cancellara the prologue winner, about 100m from the finish line as he kicked in.

Nice start merf. Hope you enjoy your new camera

If you want to post click through flickr images in here Alastair explained it well a few pages back (basically you take the link below the picture on the medium sized photo and convert it to the forums url and img format).

Also - we have a NTSC group / photo pool:

Photos the members of NTSC-UK have taken.

                                Nice shots from all lately.

Today I have been mostly visiting the Imperial War Museum, Duxford. Flying legends day.

Took a fair few memory cards full. Only looked at a few so far.

O.k. it's not a flying legend, but I haven't got round to those yet
