A desperate, sex-crazed man has a sudden urge to get his willy-whacked, so he goes downtown to pick up a hooker.

No wine, I only drink water (and occasionally soda) and she is the same (non drinkers) unless a special occassion.

When you meet a woman you like (or in my day, being an older biffer) generally you already have an idea of what she's like before asking her out. A 'gold digger' would be more than obvious to any man with half a brain before it would even get to that stage. I have the odd read through this thread out of morbid fascination. Unfortunately, a lot of what is written is often so pant-wettingly paranoid and insecure that I'm shocked some people can even step out their front door in the morning. All I see is bitch this, bitch that, blah, blah blah. Often for the most inconsequential of things, and from a bunch of supposedly grown men it reads more like teenage angst. And we refer to women as the weaker sex.

I think that Elaniel did the right thing. As others keep saying on here: "be yourself".
If you're not being honest & being yourself & trying to impress the ladies under false pretences then eventually she'll discover what you're actually like & give you the ol' heave ho.

I think the world has moved on a little regarding paying for meals/cinema etc. I thought that on a 1st date most couples do end up going dutch over the meal? Women work more along side men these days so can afford to kinda meet you half way, altho yes I do agree that agreeing to pay for stuff & spoiling your lady sometimes is a nice little surprise to do for your lady, altho they shouldnt see it as a way of taking advantage of you.

If you get along fine, are understanding & see things the same way then its more likely to work out in the long run. I think you dodged a bullet there Elaniel mate & saw her for what she really is
