Royal Mail Strike - Quick Question?

There's no further industrial action planned at this time. All I've heard so far on this deal that's supposed to be getting approved is that the union are ready to accept what's on offer this time provided Royal Mail repeals a couple of new policies they introduced through executive action (i.e. they introduced them without agreement from the union). I'm not sure how big an ask this is because I don't know which specific executive decisions the union aren't happy with, but I'd imagine it's the nationwide imposition of later start times (which is what made the posties in Liverpool perform unofficial strikes) and the stoppage of Sunday collections from post boxes, which has taken away one of the sources of much-needed overtime for some of the drivers. More news is expected today and I'll post as soon as I hear anything.

It doesn't seem to be a big deal for us really, we've all just accepted the change and adjusted to it. It does feel weird being out on delivery so much later in the day but aside from one or two people who have to pick up their kids from playschool etc I haven't noticed it making anyone's life more difficult.

I had a packet(small, posted to me last Thursday from Essex, to Scotland, Ist class recorded.)
It still hasn't arrived yet, so that is nearly four days, should I panic, or is this normal still, with the strike being over??
Thanks for any help in advance.

I'm happy to report the union executive has ratified an agreed settlement to the disputeThe agreement will now be put to the members in a national ballot but TBH that's just a formality. I'm sure I speak for all the other posties here when I say it'll be good to get back to the normal routine without all this hanging over our heads

Ordered some stuff from Genki yesterday, they shipped it same day and Royal Mail's website said it would be delivered today before 1pm due to it being special delivery.
...Of course, hasn't turned up. Tried tracking number again, now says 'To check your item's progress please come back later' (which incidentally is the only information it has offered for a few hours now). Can't imagine why they're losing business to companies such as City Link and the like. Will see if it turns up tomorrow I guess...

I have to say, based on my own location, the service is a shambles at the moment. One of the reasons why we were striking was because of changes imposed on us by RM without any kind of area based negotiation.
The network has gone under a complete revision across all functions, and always in these cases there will be "teething trouble", as my line manager put it to me last night. Admittedly I'm biased, but it doesn't seem the wisest move to me to implement changes straight after a bitter industrial dispute when there is still a backlog of mail to be cleared.
If it still hasn't turned up tomorrow, get on the phone to RM and complain like ****.
