It was sunny and pleasantly warm yesterday for the first time in five/six weeks (nearly all day too) but is back to normal upon opening my curtains to be greeted by large puddles and the usual rain falling from the sky.

My proper first day off since Easter holidays after breaking up from work (school term for the children) and it rains.

We had huge thunder storms last night, the lightning was Scooby Doo style, lighting up the whole house. I lolled.

Woke up early before my alarm went off this morning, looked out the window and thought it must still be about 3AM because it was so dark. Checked and it was just after 7! It hasn't got any brighter since then either. Ah well, at least I'm in the office and don't have to go out in it.

I've just realised something.

What the **** am I going to do in the next six weeks? Most of my friends are working throughout summer and whilst I do have some class / lesson planners to do as well as sorting out new subjects for the new term and of course the new arrivals, I can't think of what I can do to occupy myself for six bloody weeks.

I do have a voluntary placement starting in August that is still not organised (lazy charities FTL) but other than that ? especially if this weather carries on as it is ? I?m going to be slightly bored.

And no, I am not going to be playing games as I sold my Xbox 360 and Wii back in March this year.

I'm moving into a flat in September and money is reasonably tight but I am going to (South of) France in late August but that seems to be a long way away to me.

Landscape photos have always been my preference and in this weather, it is pointless although I may whip out the camera to do some (uninspiring) indoor shots if I wish to.

I'll just wait until my volunteering placement is sorted before moaning any further.
