Is this some new sort of scam attempt?

I just had someone ring me saying my computer had reported an error and was running slower than usual.

I interupted him and told him my computer was just fine thanks, only to be told "Okay, this is just to inform you, goodbye".

How strange, sligtly disconcerting that they called me by name though.
