Why do the majority of people crawl along at 30-40mph in 60mph zones?!?!?! Christ it's annoying when you're on a single carriageway driving to work in the morning!

means up to 60 (or 70) as said by others, a lot of the roads you can do 60 on aren't safe to do so thanks to all the cocks flying round corners on the wrong side of the road beacuse they think they have to drive at a constant 60, but yeah driveing at 20 or 30 is takeing the piss a bit.

There is a particular road on my way to work where it seems to attract the people who like to pootle along at 20-30mph, and it is frustrating when you know that it IS safe to go faster. They don't have to drive at exactly 60mph, but there's room for compromise. I just think that a lot of people don't know what that sign means (if they even see it) and consequently end up driving on all roads between 20-30mph. I'm not a boy racer and do observe the speed limit for the most part, but it can be just as dangerous to crawl along at a snail's pace, as it is to drive too fast.

Anyone else wish these protesters would get lost? I don't even live, or work, in London, but they're getting right on my nerves. According to the live text on BBC News, one second they're chanting about peace, the next its climate change, the next its storm the banks and put Gordon Brown on a bonfire. WTF? Get back in your VW Camper vans and sod off back to the beach.

The sign AFAICR mean the national speed limit - so what ever it is at the time is the speed. Surely it can't mean between 60 and 70 mph.
