How about the seals right around the edge of the glazing mounts? Any cracks?

    Comment

All the seals look fine. There is a slot vent thing at the top of the windows which let a crack of air in and I closed those this morning.

The landlord warned me that this kind of thing is a problem in these flats so I just need to do what I can to minimise the problem.

In my opinion you want these open. I used to have a terrible damp/condensation problem in one of the rooms, I used to have all the windows closed, the door closed most of the time (as it was a room that wasn't used much) and you could see the condensation on the window.

Now its getting colder again I am leaving the door to that room open and the windows are open a tiny slither, for ventilation, when it gets colder still next month I'm probably going to run an oil filled radiator on thermostat mode so it only comes on to maintain a certain temperature. Haven't had any condensation, damp in the bay window or whatever yet.

It gets so cold in there in winter you can see your own breath, not good at all. Just try ventilate it and keep it warm.

Aye, Kernow is right you really do need to keep them trickle vents open (they are the small vents usually found above the glass that opens slightly) not close them up.

In order to sort out damp, you really need to have some kind of extractor in the room if you are seeing mold in there..... Its mostly about air flow i believe.... but don't quote me on that

Out of curiosity is the condensation on the inner pane of glass or between the panes of glass on the double glazed window unit?

The best solution would be if everyone sent him a silica gel packet(but don't eat one!)

It's on the inner pane, I wipe it up with a cloth each morning.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I may try one of those radiators as well.

Arrrgh, not sure how much more **** I can take from Agencies. Asked 9am Thursday If 11am Tuesday would be suitable for a job interview and they'd send me a pack right away via post confirming the details. Still hasn't turned up so after this mornings post I ring them up only to find they've not confirmed the interview yet. I could have showed up tomorrow looking like a right plonk! Not to mention the lack of sleep and non-stop prep all weekend. Had to cancel another apointment tomorrow too because of it.

Agencies blow 'Hi was wondering if you could work in 3 hours time' 'no? - ok never hear from us again then, thanks'

I'm sitting down trying to plan a project pitch where we'll be designing a brand identity from start to finish, also hard work, and also super important. The meeting is on Thursday and it's a public holiday here tomorrow so plenty of time to get it in order.

This says a lot about a lot of regular facetweet users. They all think what they update/tweet is important, but if someone has a lot of friends and a lot of active friends, any info has rolled off the screen in minutes essentially gone forever. So thus by definition, it's unimportant to anyone. So ergo: people obsessed with reading and writing unimportant stuff. I'm making no sense am I?
