    A question about car batteries.

How long will the charge last if a car is left sitting in a car park? I mean, will I come back to find it dead, and won't turn over, after being left for three weeks or a month or so?

My car has an alarm, that obviously draws power, but apart from that, I assume only the immbolizer or central locking system draws power from a stationary vehicle. I don't drive that much these days but worry that if I leave it for more than two weeks or so, I will flood my engine as the battery will die whilst turning it over. A flooded rotary engine is a recipe for potential wallet pain you see.

      Something like this:
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/product...ditioners.html I have similar plugged into my bike in the garage.

      Or if it's outside:
http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/S...?ProductId=340 (check your cigarette lighter can supply power back to the battery - most can).

To answer your question, depends on how thirsty the alarm is. Could last 2 months if the battery is in good condition. If it's not, then could last 3 weeks. My motorbike battery got the point where 2 weeks was tops.

This (exact car) was in my club's car park yesterday Need to track down who's it is. Didn't even realise it was a road legal vehicle. Did it make production or is this just a one off?

Micra with the engine from the 350Z in the back! It looks pretty damn hot.

          Charles,

          Thanks for the info.

evo magazine had it as a long termer. Apparently it was virtually undrivable! Also incredibly loud with the engine in the cabin.

What club? Are you in the Masons Charles !

It's a one off special made by Nissan themselves. As my fellow EVO reader Stu points out, it seems to be impossible to drive!

Check the handbook. Some cars deactivated the sensors for the remote after a period to save the battery. Do you know if your car alarm is tied in to the main battery or has it's own?

My car deactivates the remote sensor if it hasn't been used for 5 days and the alarm and tracker have their own batteries.

Found out it's owned by some old guy. Figures. Micra innit.

                    Good point. Will do.

                      Feel sorry for the Ferrari...

Bragging at the bar sounds about right for him. I remember seeing him lambast a reporter once for brushing against one of his Bentleys. Very obnoxious person.

Surely the windscreen and window can be fixed with his £50 glass cover on his insurance?

I think he came across well on TG. So back to Maranello for a windscreen change then....

You're not wrong. I do wonder how much of that was "inspired" by the Range Rover LRX Concept? The window line looks similar (from what I remember)

Whole thing looks like it was inspired by a barge.
