Sounds great, I'd love to do one of those days.

I assume you're talking about a 911 Turbo for it to have been more accelerative than the Gallardo. Shame about the DB9 but it's probably not a fair comparison, it's more of a GT car than a super/sportscar like the other two.

Yea I do mean turbo, I think the fact it's a manual that i'm used to played a part in my greater enjoyment of it too, before yesterday i'd never driven an automatic let alone a flappy paddle, i was constantly pressing an imaginary clutch pedal and reaching for an imaginary gear stick! I was thinking the same thing about the db9, it's not strcitly a track car but they had 3 of them (2 db9's and a vantage) anyway cos everyone would love to drive an aston martin at some point, would love to take one out far a day or 2 on normal roads.

Yeah, I imagine the paddles take a while to get used to and apparently the early versions on Lambos and the Aston versions aren't that good anyway.

        Which circuit were you at?

Prodrive curcuit in Warwickshire, not sure if thats the name of the curcuit but thats the name of the company i went with, to be honest though, whilst i may not have been used to them, the paddles on the lambo worked really well, the change was pretty much instant. Was a bit gutted the atom was overbooked though, that was blitzing everything that was there. I'm gonna make sure there's a next time though, And after we'd done one of their drivers took us round for a couple of hotlaps in an Impreza, that was scary, in a good way.

Oh and they have a skidpan there too, wouldn't mind giving that a go.

Not at all. We all hate it if some twat damages our car. The other week I had my car down at Super Autobacks to get the new alloys fitted. While standing next to my car with the door open my wfie pushed past instead of going round which caused me to scratch the door of the car next to mine. It was really nasty as well. At first I though "****, better park somewhere else" but then thought what if it had been my car. The owner of the other car was not that pissed to be honest and had it repaired that day. It only came to a few thousand yen as well so I was happy.

              Yakumo,

That's the thing. I would have been furious if they did it to my car, and walked off, so couldn't let the same thing happen to somebody else. Good on you for being so honest.

So I came to the end of my HP for my Mazda6 and had every intention of running it for a few years and pocketing the money.

Then the A5 caught my eye and I really loved the look of it (had an A4 and '90 coupe in the past before the Mazda)

They look, great and I test drove one and it was okay - much like any other Audi. The prices were a little bit out my budget so I decided to look at some other cars. Mercs looked expensive to run and look like an old mans car (imo) so I tried the BMW.

I was totally blow away by the drive in the BMW - steering, handling, speed, driving position - it was totally different to my previous cars.

Once I got over the idea of owning BMW I went out and got myself an '07 325 coupe. It has totally changed my atitiude to driving - I literally cant wait to go to work every morning just to drive the car!

I never thought I would ever, ever buy a BM and now I have already started putting a little away for the next one!

Fantastic to drive aren't they? BMWs... I've had 5 previously and I only got rid of my last one as my wife was pregnant at the time and was complaining the ride was a little bumpy for her (this was in a 130i M Sport on 18" alloys hehe)

5!! That's brand loyalty! What was the 130 like? I like the coupe versions.

Winky, cool car choice. To ask a girl's question: what colour?

grey, bit it was the colour I wanted and it blends in with the rest of the cars parked at the supermarket and looks unremarkarble - which is a good thing!

130 is a fantastic car. Seriously good fun. I had a Z4 3.0 too, but the 130 felt far better balanced and less like you were about to lose it on the corners. I can only imagine what the 135i coupe is like though

                          New McLaren

Hideous from the side at the moment till I get used to it no doubt. Great from front and back.

Looks like a Ferrari reject to me.

The tech behind that new Macca is pretty damn impressive though. And it looks as though it will be physically quite small compared to a Gallardo / F430 etc and hence lighter. You know it will be good.
