I saw a Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M today. A rare breed indeed.

          That M3 is gorgeous.

Saw one of the new Jag XJ's on the way home. Not sure they're even out yet are they? It was coming out of the Mira test track... 09 plate on it.

At first glance I thought it was an XF, but the bonnet looked different.... and then when I caught a glimpse of it's rear end it's a totally different car.

"Nice" wouldn't do it justice to be honest.

I am just gutted that they are going to be closing one of the Jaguar Land Rover factories near me. Not least of all because half of my family, and loads of my friends, work at the Solihull one

You're spot on... Hideous would do it more justice...

Saw it at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. The interior is fantastic. The exterior is horrific.

                Opinion is a great thing

Has to said that modern Jags look like the offspring of some bizarre Hyundai / Aston Martin copulation. And the blinging interiors aren't my scene at all.

can't believe i've not posted on here, my other passion aside from gaming is my motors, well more specifically the VW Golf GTI.. i've owned 5 GTI's, 4 mk2's and a mk1.. the mk2 is my favourite and this is the last one i will buy, its a minter and a keeper

                    1990 VW Golf GTI G60 Edition 1
                    Pearl Grey non-sunroof model
                    Air-Con!! :woot:

for anyone that doesn't know, the Edition 1 is one of the rarer varieties of MK2 and considered by dubbers as one of the best only the golf limited being more rare, but fetches a healthy price!

mine being one of a believed to be less than 100 made in this colour...

basically a Supercharged GTI, running 160bhp as standard, mine has been treated to a chip and 68mm supercharge pulley, supersprint stainless steel exhaust [got a manifold recently which needs fitting too]...

                    absolutely love my G60...

it has H&R anti-roll bars, powerflex bushes throughout and KW Stainless steel coilover suspension.

9x15 at the rear and 8.5x15 fully polished OZ Turbo wheels, with custom centres..

these are currently off as i'm gonna give them a little makeover during the winter, so running 15" G60 winter steel wheels

That is mint. An old flatmate of mine had a GTi MKII and was forever reparing it (at one point he cut a hole in the passenger footwell to allow him to reweld something or other!), but it was a fantastic ride and pretty nippy. He had a Jetta as well, but fell asleep on the motorway going to Scotland and trashed it.

I'm not a fan of the way golfs went after the MKII. Heavier, heavier, bigger, bigger, duller, duller.

G60's rock. More accessible power throughout the rev range than the 16v. And the rarity factor these days adds to the charm.
Mk I and Mk II Golfs are great fun and the styling of the 1.8 Mk I GTi has never been bettered by VW IMO. I had a Mk II GL years ago and it was a sturdy bit of kit with pretty decent handling. I also have a Mk V Estate now and I continue to be impressed with the chassis. The GTi must be great these days.
I would like a shot in a Limited but it's been years since I have seen one anywhere.

yeah plenty of torque in the G60, when I get around to the engine rebuild [it only has 84k on the clock] i'm gonna get a shrick cam in there, that'll be the only other power upgrade i'll make... but be a while before I can afford that..

apparently the Mk5 GTI is a good un, would love a blast in one..

last Limited I saw was up for sale for £14k!! but there aren't many of them left, so anyone owning one usually have it mint, one not to be messed with...

apart from the wheels and suspension upgrades, mine is 100% original and is staying that way..

had the interior valeted the day I got it and its absolutely fantastic, its like a new car

yeah the later marques got fatter and slower... although the 20 Valve Turbo engines can't half be tuned!!.. the wife has a leon cupra totally standard but my god the engine is tasty!

I think the Mk3 can be styled really well, only model to get though would be the VR6, they're the daddy

no welding on mine fella, been fully wax oiled can't be too careful, especially living in Oldham, i'm a stones throw from Saddleworth moors, so we dont get the best of weather in winter

On another forum I visit we were talking about what sort of sound does your car make which led in to a few of us making videos.

Here's the set up I had. At the front was a panasonic Lumix which recorded a fantastic video although only at 30fps which doesn't do the image of speed any favours I'm afraid. Also the sound from here is awful due to wind noise. A real shame because the roar of the engine is lovely.

Around the back next to the exhaust I have a Creative Labs ZEN MP3 player. thsi also has a built in mic that's surprisingly very good however too sensitive so the deep base of the exhaust just sends it in to a fit once it hits a certain frequency. Still, you can sort of get the idea of sound.

I've added the video to my server rather than YouTube to keep the original 640 x 480 screen size. After encoding the video to flash it's lost a bit of image quality but still good enough I'd say.

In the end I dropped all the audio from the front camera so everything youhear including the door close and engine start is from the little Creative Labs ZEN MP3 Player that was around the back under the car.

Course - From my driveway to the sea in just over 5 minutes (with traffic light stops edited to quicken the pace)

                            ENJOY!!

Internet Explorer users may find that the video will only play once or possibly not at all due to the browser messing up my site. Fire Fox and Chrome users will have no problems at all.

Saw a salmon pink Murci this morning. The sound was outrageous. That's one amazing machine.

I bet it was! I've never seen one myself down here though. I did see a black Maserati Quattroporte a month or so back pull up next to me in 7 / 11's car park. The guy that got out of it was in his late 40's wearing, I **** you not, a salmon pink suit

Here's another video I filmed a few weeks back. It was at 10:30 pm on the way home from visiting a friend. I was hoping for the road to be much more empty so that I could really let lose but no such luck.

I've also subtitled the video because in places it's hard to work out what I'm saying due to wind noise. At 100mph (160kmph) it gets quite noisy inside the car.
