You must be the wealthiest 24 year old around Shozuki.
But i'm a wee bit confused. You already own a 2010 530d, as you said in this post............

yeah I'll just trade the M3 for the updated one, plus I have a 530d (2010)
Originally posted by Shozuki View Postlol, oops my mistake! whilst were talking MPG - I get 16 MPG from the M3 and i'll get around 20 from the R8 hence I'll buy something like a 530d to do the donkey mileage day to day, best way I think.

By the way, how much is petrol in the UK these days. Normal petrol here is about 125 yen (97 pence) per ltr while the good stuff (called High Octaine here) is about 138 yen (£1.01p) per ltr.Last edited by Yakumo; 24-09-2010, 06:47.

Oh dear, has someone been called out?
Personally I don't see the logic - why buy a brand new 530d as a second car for longer mileage trips? Yes, it's a diesel, but the depreciation hit you take will far outweigh any fuel cost savings. Buy a cheap, second hand, common-as-muck diesel saloon if MPG matters enough to you to warrant a second car for commuting tasks, otherwise it seems pointless.

You speak the truth sir!

If I was financially comfortable and needed a second car better suited to long distance travelling in terms of fuel usage, then I'd buy something along the lines of a used diesel Mondeo, Accord, etc. - i.e. a purchase suited to the goal I wish to achieve, which is saving money. Buying a premium brand new/nearly new car for MPG reasons just doesn't make any sense to me at all as you just stand to lose thousands before you've barely used it (particularly if I was looking to purchase a model of car I already owned...).
Seriously, I can't help but feel we're being taken for a ride (see what I did there?). As such, I don't expect him to reply to any of the previous posts, although he's welcome to prove me wrong.
