Nice to know. I'll download this when I get home tonight. It will probably take forever to download over 3G killing the battery.

Just come back from the EAG Arcade Expo show.
I was quite surprised to see an iphone game changed into an arcade game -Actually maybe not, cause I saw lots of 360 Kinect arcade games - Highlight for me was seeing a fat bastard playing Dance Central! Anyway...

Fruit Ninja sure looked fun on a 42" HD screen!!

I finished Dead Space today. It's not bad. For an iOS game trying to play like a console game, it does a good job but it will always need that caveat. The sound is great and the atmosphere works, as long as you've got headphones. And the setup and payoff is actually pretty interesting. It seems to take place in the same place as Dead Space 2 - I haven't played that so I'm not sure what actual relevance, if any, it has in that one.

The control works pretty well but they've clearly had to hold back on what the enemies will do to make sure the control doesn't cripple you. As a result, the game feels very slow and repetitive. Repetition is also a problem in the layout of the levels, going through many copy/pasted rooms, corridors and whatnot. And the all-too familiar lockdown sequences. It gets to a point where it just doesn't feel hugely interesting.

It's an accomplishment I guess. But, to me, highlights the limitations of the system and reinforces actually why we need the likes of the 3DS and NGP.

Oddly, I'm not sure it's a great sales tool for Dead Space 2 because the levels felt so similar to the original Dead Space and yet it takes place in the same location as the sequel, it has me wondering if there could possibly be enough variety in the sequel.

I happened to do a couple of hard resets to make my 3G run at somewhere close to normal speed and it has completely fixed Dead Space and it runs at a decent frame rate now

Dead Space 2 has alot more variety than the Iphone game, infact when you get around to playing it I think you will be pleasently suprised at just how diverse the enviroments actualy are.

Thanks, that's reassuring to hear. It's one I'm looking forward to playing.

Capcom are having a bit of a sale at the moment - most stuff is 59p!

                    Including:

Phoenix Wright (a must buy IMO)
                    Devil May Cry 4 Refrain
                    Dead Rising
                    Street Fighter 4
                    Resident Evil 4

                    And a couple of others.

Looks like the Capcom sale is for the UK only. By the way, do you guys get all the Japanese, Korean and middle east crap in the app store?

No we don't, though some companies chose to release the odd asian title untranslated if there is demand, seen a fair few.

The Sword & Poker games are back up if anyone was looking for them. I went straight for the sequel and I'm really enjoying it. Has a good battle system based on poker.

Thought I'd give SF4 a go for 59p and while it looks good and is packed with content, the poor controls just prove again that these sort of games don't work on an iPhone.

Think it plays alright personally. A lot better than I thought it would.
