"The Impossible Test" is a free app that is quite fun, quite taxing at times as well depending on how logical you are! OpenFeint enabled as well!

The battery drains so fast on intensive games it's not funny. Settlers will drain the battery in under 3 hours.
*edit*
Just looked at the features they've added....
Folders should've been done a long time ago.
The multitasking isn't multitasking, just lets apps run services in the background.
Shutting out all but 3 languages and any APIs other than theirs is a serious dick move. Stops people doing easy ports to android and stops devs porting Flash apps. How does Apple keep getting away with monopolistic practices like these?Last edited by abigsmurf; 09-04-2010, 10:47.

Kirikae and Backgrounder are all you need.
The multitasking in 4.0 is very similar to what Microsoft have been touting for Windows Phone 7 Series, a kind of 'smart tasking' which is more like an instant restore than anything else. Still, way better than using Kirikae /o/
I just can't wait to see the new hardware now. To those who recently got or are getting 3GS devices - what are you doing?! Roll on high res OLED screens and 64GB storage later in the year.

I think 3GS owners will be OK. The fact it has the same amount of RAM, same CPU and GPU as the iPad makes me think that the next iPhone will merely have a lower clocked variant of the A4 SOC in the iPad.
There wasn't much change between the 2G and 3G models. The 3GS was a big leap from the 3G so a refresh will be adequate for another year.

Oh, I agree. The 3GS is still a very powerful device, multitasking is really what its insides have been waiting for.
It's just I'd hate to get a product like this at the end of its cycle, knowing financially I'd be unable to get the latest device when it arrives. Especially as I'm sure there'll be another couple of incentive 'extras' only available on the new model which haven't been revealed yet (just like the compass and voice control stuff on the 3GS). But then again I'm a technology freak who needs the latest version, haha.

I just gave 4.0 a go... other than the game center thing, and it being a bit quicker, there really is nothing on offer for 3G owners at present. Most things will kick in with the opened up SDK that allows access to calendars and the like. Just sticking 3.1.3 back on now.
Re any new hardware, it's been mentioned several places on the net today that there is more than likely to be a new iPhone this summer. Given that a lot of 3G owners had 2 year contracts and a lot of them are up soon, Apple would be foolish to not have new ones on the horizon.
Either way, I emailed Steve Jobs to ask himDoubt I'll get a reply!

One for the Bemani fans here.
I've been playing a huge amount of Dance Dance Revolution S+ on the iPhone recently. From what i've seen, it's received almost no coverage.
It's exactly the same as DDR S, but the S+ version has a DDR store where you can download the proper notecharts to other DDR songs.
When it first came out, it received almost no coverage whatsoever due to the extremely poor selection of songs you could download. However, I just decided to check it randomly as I was getting into DDR S, and a HUGE selection of songs have been added from different versions of DDR!
Max 300 made it in, all the PARANOiA's have made it in, Fascination MAXX has made it in, Chaos has made it in, all the decent songs have made it in and it's awesome now.
It's also quite pricy at £1.19 for a 3 song pack or 59p per song but I couldn't help but buy absolutely tons of them.

Funnily enough the Japanese iTunes has it's description in full English... xD
It doesn't seem like you can buy it now even though it's up (or maybe it's just me having trouble), keeps popping up with 'Purchase of this item is not available, item is being modified. Please try again later'
=_=
