iPhone 2.2 firmware's out now along with a new version of iTunes.
I'm liking the firmware so far and it appears to have stablised a lot of the issues people have been having since 2.0 and 2.1, with unresponsive menus etc. Also adds street view to Maps (if the location supports it) and the ability to turn off text correction.

I picked up a Griffin case for my iPhone. Much as I try to take care of it, the back of it is becoming a bit scruffy with light scratches, so it was time to do something about it. Despite my reservations, I'm pleased with it and the slightly more chunky feel to it is an improvement actually.

Boris, stick in an 02 sim and activate it through itunes.
Problem solved. Hopefully you backed all your jailbroken stuff for when the dev team hack 2.2
I'm patiently awaiting the 3g unlock. I got a turbosim device for £6, and it's working fine now after some... well... issues.
It kept losing the signal at first. I had to keep ejecting and reinserting, and I had to cut my sim, even though it claimed otherwise.
I'm actually loving the phone though. There's a few things it lacks, but SO MUCH that I wished I could do with other phones in the past that I can do with most of the jailbroken apps. (iblacklist being the main one that springs to mind. All phones should have a "block this number" feature.)
I just bought the official dock for £10 off ebay, and the wee connector cable. All I'm needing now are headphones that are actually decent. (really want sennheisers, but I can't stand the in ear ones that actually go right into your ear canal. I want to hear music. Not my bodily functions amplified. I mean, have any of you actually ever done a pump wearing a set of those?)

Noticed that through reading all the latest posts on devteam blog.
Also discovered that they're advising not to use the sim proxy device that I'm stuck using until they release the 3g baseband unlock.
At least you got it sorted now Evilboris.
As for now, 2.1 update is fine for me. I'll upgrade with the pwnage release.

Download this file
Then when it's done go to Devices Itunes and HOLD THE SHIFT KEY and click CHECK FOR UPDATES
find the file you've just downloaded.
This will update it to version 2.1
once that is all done
get quickpwn for windows
you'll also need the bootloaders which can be found here
Follow the simple instructions in quickpwn and you'll be sorted in no time.

Ok ive encountered a little problem with my iphone. Basically my volume button is broken and hypersensitive, the travel has gone on the down part and it only needs to be breathed on and the volume goes straight down, most annoying.
Heres the tricky part, its still in warranty but ive unlocked it. Now i could restore it to its factory settings and original unpwned state, but i dont know how to blag it with O2 seeing as i dont have an O2 number?
Whats your thoughts guys?
