I might be in the market for buying an Iphone soon but want to use it with T-Mobile and not have an O2 contract to pay for.

Can anyone explain in simple terms what the situation is regarding Jailbroke phones and updates etc as it stands today. A lot of references I'm finding online are regarding previous old updates etc and its all getting a tad bit confusing!

Last thing I wanna do is get a jailbroke phone, update it and find it's no use or can't be jailbroke again for T-Mobile!

I'm sure someone will correct me, but jail breaking ISN'T the same as getting it to run on a different network...

Correctomundo, it needs to be unlocked from the o2 network. Jailbreaking won't do that.

While I think of it, question, has anyone seen a speaker system that is designed to take the iPhone/Touch horizontally - something designed for video watching rather than music playing. Cheers.

No suggestions of buying a normal one and sticking it on it's side please

For anyone with strange ears like mine apple have finally got official In-Ear headphones with mic listed on the store, yay!.
Unfortunately there £55 and not out yet. Will be worth the investment though as the normal headphone shape cains my ears

I really dislike the Apple standard earphones, probably worst fitting ones (for me) that I've tried in ages. Strangely, the PSP ones seem to fit my ears best.

I got an iPhone 3G 16gb on O2 yesterday and love it other than the fact that I never actually get any 3G coverage.

3G is switched on but am still having no luck, anyone on here have any ideas? The O2 map thing says that I have full 3G coverage in my area.

There are no tips or tricks...

3G coverage is just still pretty poor on any of the networks...

I do generally find though that you can get the coverage for a quick browse in most built up areas, whether it be 3G or Edge.

I struggle where I live to even get a phone signal but I just utilise my home wireless network for browsing at home.

Well you should get 3G in all major towns etc and O2 sent me a text today saying that O2 customers can now use any BT Openzones for free now.

It's always been like that. They just added more hotspots to expand the network. Put 'O2 hotspot' or something similar into Google Maps on the phone and it should show you any that are around you.

I've been looking at for a case for my 3G. I was thinking of getting the ZAG invisible shield. Does that case add a lot of bulk to the phone?

EDIT: And where did you purchase it from it looks ace, i like the little stand that comes with it so you can rest it sideways whilst watching movies, kinda what David's looking for in a speaker system
