    Current TV irk:

"That's how whales talk and you can ere them for oondreds and oondreds of miles"

Why would anyone want to a phone a bank and be greeted by someone who has a laugh with them? Can't remember ever having to phone a bank for good reasons, having someone joke whilst talking about my finances would probably be on the same level as a chemist/cashier joking when I buy some condoms.

That advert is on sooooooooo many times. Still not as bad as the Nat West 'customer charter' ones, patronising bastards. I swear I will never bank with Nat West even if they are the last bank in the world. You're not being helpful, you're just trying to sell things to people.

That's mostly derived from the Internet though, isn't it? Still, being that influenced by what you read on the Internet is probably quite sad in itself.

(Big TV and rapidly expanding games collection notwithstanding. )

Discovering that your shower pump in the loft has had a slow leak, which has ended up on the floor below, smack in the middle of your PS2 collection. Just a few old favorites and rarities F..k!!!

Yeah, that sh*t is annoying. Going to MCM Expo twice a year, those phrases are all I hear for the whole 6 or so hours I'm there usually.

For a second I thought MCM was full of people with leaky shower pumps

Probably been mentioned before but ebay sellers posting SNES and SFC games in Jiffy bags no matter how well padded they think they are

and they always act suprised and blame the Royal Mail when I complain about them being smashed...

I make a point of requesting that they post in a box but some idiots still fail to use the gift of common sense

                    I shouldn't have to ask should I?

I've probably said this one before but the newspaper reminded me. Scenario:

Kid is run over by a car on a busy road. Police arrest the driver for dangerous driving and he faces prison for manslaughter or murder. Parents distraught, media outcry etc.

Meanwhile, buried in the details is the info that it was a busy A road and the photo of the scene shows no pedestrian crossing or traffic lights. It's sooo tiresome to see common sense squandered every time someone gets run over through no fault of their own. Don't wanna die? Don't run into the road! So many innocent people will have to live with having been involved in someones death and then being blamed and imprisoned for it because of someone else's stupidity. The law is useless.

I agree that it's always tragic when a life is taken in such a way, but it's not always the driver's fault.

They've moved the college near my office and every time I drive past, yoof are always running across the road and not bothering to wait for the pelican crossing to change for them. There's railings most of the way up the road, but they'll squeeze through anywhere to save 7 seconds.

I really feel it's a case of "when" and not "if" a student is killed.

It's always someone else's fault. No one has to take the blame for their own inaction / stupidity anymore.

Worldwide over 1 million people die in road accidents every year.

I can't speak for the story you're irked about specifically but I think the problem goes beyond idiots running out on to the road. Actually, just before Christmas, in the dark, I saw a guy weaving around traffic on a bike in the rain. A black guy. In a black coat. On a black bike. With no lights. I wonder if he's still alive...

But regardless of the obvious stupidity of some people, with over 1 million people dying every year, I can't help wondering if the whole transport system and idea of cars generally needs to be examined. In just six years, we have a holocaust. In twelve, we have two. That's a serious amount of people. Doesn't seem right.

Unless private car traffic is regulated somehow, there's only going to be more traffic accidents every year, especially when in giant countries with huge economic growth like China and India people will start to own more and more cars. Not to mention the pollution all these millions of new cars will produce.
