any form of tech percentage bar showing time to completion of install/task etc.

even on closed systems like PS3 they are always garbage, surely the install time for a PS3 demo or game (there's another irk, PS3 installs) takes the same time on each machine, why do the bars fly to 75%, sit there for a bit, then go up in odd increments.

worst offenders are those that get to, then sit on 99%

Or what about the Xbox dash updates. They always go up the bar twice. I mean really.... Why have a bar if it just finishes and starts again? It gives no more confidence of nearing the end than just a spinning hour glass!

About those T-shirts.... I have one that's sort of the opposite: "Jack Bauer wouldn't stand for this ****". I'd wear it while pointing at other people's T-shirts. I don't wear it very often tbh. I value my face.

The following combinations irk me immensely:

              Jeans with smart shoes.

              Suits with trainers.

              Urgh!

Whatever you do, don't go and work for Next at their head office. I don't think you'd like it there

                    Schools irk me.

Twice in a week I've heard parents openly swearing in the playground when we go to pick up our boy.

Now they've lost my son's plimsoles that were clearly marked (twice) with his name and the compromise is that he can use the "spare pair" they have. I don't find that acceptable, they lost them on their time, so they can damn well replace them with a NEW pair and not the skank-pair that they have hanging around!!

Also, after PE he keeps coming home with his shoes on the wrong feet, meaning he's wearing them like that for hours on end, which isn't good for his feet.

Just not good enough imho and I'm debating whether or not I can do anything about it.

I think the volume of top totty would balance off any dress-rage.

I had an interview there years ago, I turned the job down but I was impressed with the 'surroundings'.

@Jebus. It's not 'schools' mate. It's that particular school by the sound of it.

Those plimsoles were not 'lost', you'll find that some skank has sent their kid to school without any. We've had this with various items of clothing. Plimsoles are easy though, just suggest you'd like to see if you can find yours int he rack at the end of the school day. Guarenteed they'll be there.

Shoes on the wrong feet is more your problem though.

He normally gets his shoes on the right feet, but I guess when they are rushing to get them changed and back into the classroom he gets it wrong sometimes, they obviously don't check. He's four years old, he's very much still learning things.

As for the plimsoles, as I say, still debating whether or not to create merry hell about it.

The swearing from the scum-parents, I've already complained about it once, and I'll keep doing so as I don't thinks its too much to ask for them to refrain from swearing for 10 minutes a day. Don't care what they do in front of theirs, but don't want them doing it in front of mine.

Fullspec, sadly we had two choice, this school or private. We can't afford private, so had no choice. All this though is from a couple of months there, and I'm really really not happy.

Another irk, in unison and connected to my previous, is dole-scum. People with no intention of working whatsoever, people whom I see wandering around all day whilst I'm working, then whilst I'm stil in uniform, rushing to get to school on time to pick my eldest up, look as fresh as a daisy from doing bugger all, all day. Then proceed to swear openly in the playground about their Giro being late. Nothing wrong with them, they just enjoy the life the government provides for them too much to do anything else.

Another...people who think they have right of way on a path. No matter how far your (or your wife) might move out of the way for them, it's not enough.

Another...drivers who don't realise the world doesn't revolve around them.

Another...websites who take an order AND your money, you hear nothing for 7 days then when YOU contact them, they tell you the product is out of stock and they'll get back to you. They don't, so YOU do the chasing again only to be told they will be out of stock for another 4 weeks. Then you get an email a day later asking if you want a refund, to which you reply "Yes please..." (etc) and have no word back from them for another 2 days! You don't get to take my money for a product you can't supply for nearly 2 months!

I'm having a bad week and am likely to add pages to this thread if it continues at this rate. I assure you normal service will resume next week. I'm at the point though that is someone else crosses me today, I won't be held responsible for them getting their head pushed as far up their own anus as is possible.

Tricky age Jebus, as you say plenty to learn with everything new to him. They only wear plimsoles int he school though? (our school the kids have to change from outdoor shoes to plimsoles as they come in/go out so only wear shoes for going to/from school and breaktime)

Other parents is a whole different ball game. I had the school over a bullying/violence charge after one of the little darlings, with anger issues, stabbed our daughter with a pencil and a few months later tried to strangle her. School took it very seriously (get hold of any charters the school has and quote them back to the school, also any education authority reports). Currently have a problem with bullying from another girl (actually a pair of twins) which the mother encourages. School less inclined to get involved and we are actively banned (under education rules etc) from approaching the mother in the school grounds, must be done outside. Doubt you will get very far with that one, unreasobale parents don't seem to get the message at all.

My answer to this is make them do community work to earn their lazy arse money. And I agree with pretty much all what you posted Jebus.

And the fact I can never remember how to spell THEIR!
