Last night's episode of Cold Case on Sky 3.

"Yeah, in each case the kids were playing the same videogame: Defector 3"

"Yeah I know that one, it's your classic RPG"

      "An RPG?"

      "A Role playing Game"

We then get to see this RPG game they had all been playing and it's essentially Mortal Kombat.

      THE RAGE!

How hard could it have been to get that right? It's like they deliberately got it wrong just to annoy me

Good irk. TV always gets videogames wrong - two people playing a single player game like Tombraider. Controllers not plugged in. Wrong controllers for the console.

I remember Mr Biffo commenting on it once in an episode of Eastenders he had written. He pointed out that the console set up was all wrong, but the producers just didn't care.

I remember on one of the Royal variety shows as a kid they had someone on stage playing a game gear and they played super Mario Land's 1st stage music.

That said, It's not just gaming TV gets wrong. The way they actors pretending to drive twitch the steering wheel whilst driving down a straight road would result in them zig-zagging in real life.

At least Spaced got it right. Simon Pegg knows his stuff but it doesnt take an expert to do it properly now does it?

Or was it some kinda of problem with progs looking biased by advertising a single console brand I wonder?

Theres one episode of scrubs that has a sub-plot involving Turk trying to finish a co-op game on xbox 360, I'm not sure what game it is from the limited gameplay they show but at one point carla says 'jump in that warthog' but its clearly not Halo, also they all mash the buttons looking like they have the faintest clue of what to do. And to add insult to injury, the gameplay they show is clearly a 1 player game not co-op

Just because it's a mobile phone forum doesn't mean to say you all have to write in TXT SPK you idiots.

Add to that, Nokia not providing PC Suite for linux. It's free anyway. Get to it Nokia.

In all probability Tommy, those gentlemen have never had sex with anything remotely close to a woman, and almost certainly won't until they grow out of being so "cool".

I used to to work with a guy who wore lots of those sort of t-shirts. TO cap it of he'd walk around the office asking people "have you seen my t-shirt?" and giggling. weirdo!

Video game inaccuracies in films/TV always wound me up.

In the Charlie's Angels movie, there are two kids playing Final Fantasy VIII together each with a controller. They're each pounding away at buttons and it's a battle against a creature in Balamb Garden, and the characters are not even moving! Just Squall standing there bouncing up and down doing nothing waiting for his commands to be input.

Or on Buffy/Angel when Spike was playing Donkey Kong... but on an XBox.

This really gets my goat! It reeks of desperation to be cool and accepted but had the complete opposite effect!
