I love Wright Stuff on C5, though. One of the worst things about working for a living is not being able to watch it. I was off work ill for a week last month and mornings were bliss

Even worse when the Aussies have such gold as this to wake up to:

Loose Women is UK's edition of "The View". The Jeremy Kyle Show is amazing. It's like bear-bating or some grotesque Victorian side show...

Roll-up, Roll-up, come see the council estate freaks... Jeremy Kyle himself is a rubbish human being. Well I don't know him, that's not fair but he shouldn't be on TV he's too smug. Same with Jeremy Vine, he goes around like he's Jesus' more saintly younger brother. :/

Well, Jeremy Vine's younger brother is Tim Vine and they couldn't be much more different!

I remember reading something about an ex-researcher for the Kyle show who admitted that they looked for people with psychological problems to get on the show, just not too ill, and they would do this by asking them what medications they took. Apparently reality tv works in a similar manner. It's a bit sick really. From what little I've seen of his show, it makes Jeremy Kyle's angry ranting at his 'guests' even worse, as he probably knows why they were selected.

Haha, seriously? I knew of/like Tim Vine but I didn't put the as brothers...

            ^^ Tim Vine = Stitches!

@pikate: I wish Kilroy was still on. He was awesome.

@shinobi7000: I wouldn't be surprised. It's the sort of reason I don't watch any reality TV. I think it's even less realistic than something like 24 because, at least with that, you know it's a story with acting and effects. With these programmes it's pretty much the same production but without actual actors, and so I just don't see the point. Not to mention they all use the same angles, close-ups, music and slow-down/speed-up shots it's almost like they're using the same Movie Maker template or something

The state of British TV and stupid announcers getting my hopes up...

TV: "And coming up next on BBC Three, Shrek the Third"

                Me: "YAY!" xD

TV: "But first "World Chamionship Dating"

                Me: "Nooooo!" *Changes to BBC1*

                TV: *Dale Winton*

                Me: *TV off...*

On a similar theme I hate end credits of tv programmes being shrunk and talked over. Even worse is adverts for what is on next obscuring the programme that is still on.

Brooker did a bit on both those things - Norton on Dr. Who and the end credits. I think they had a bum with a face on it wiggling while the woman did the talkover. Hilariously, she responded to it with something like "Yes, very funny". I loved that

My laptop's charging port has been faulty for a while now. Had hoped to fix it with the help of my Dad last weekend but turns out it's attached to the motherboard in such a way that removing/replacing would be almost impossible. Can't find a replacement part anywhere either, so would just have to replace the whole motherboard which is more expensive than just buying the same laptop again second hand.

Really liked the laptop as well, Acer 1810tz, so now need to find something of similar size, weight and battery life but much better build quality, if anyone has any suggestions let me know....

Depending on how hacky you want to be/how much you want to keep it, why not buy a replacement jack, wire it up to the motherboard contacts and let it dangle out of the hole a bit, hardcorps style?

What's up with it exactly? If it's just dry solder then re-flowing it would work fine.
