People can be out of work and be productive, I can't remember the last time I didn't go out and maybe offer to carry something for someone, or just generally be nice...I am dole-scum?
I don't know you, so I don't know if you are dole-scum. I was talking about a few select individuals/families that I DO know.

Would you consider "productive" to be buying as many "celeb" mags as you can, wandering around town all day long then bragging about your dole arriving so you can finally get Christmas sorted.

I'm not talking about people on the dole who are trying to get another job, or trying to do something with their life. I'm talking about the people who happily eek out their life doing absolutely nothing, whilst we pay for them.

My father was out of work once, laid off and he struggled like hell to get a job, desperately wanting to work, to feel the sense of self worth you get from every penny being worked for, yet others are happy to mooch off the government, I'm afraid I value myself more than that.

If you are happy to live in a home you don't own, not wear nice clothes, not have nice stuff and just about struggle by then fine, go ahead, I have different morals to those and it's not enough for me.

I should not have to pay for you to do so, and nor should any government provide a life for you that you have not earnt. Oh and being born doesn't count as earning it.

(I should note that the "you" in question is not the poster I am quoting specifically, but the "dole-scum" I refer to).

It really REALLY irks me when people go on about "foreigners coming over here", at least they are willing to work. The problem as I see it isn't the "foreigners", there are plenty of people in this country, born here who are more than willing to do anything they can to AVOID working, avoiding giving back to the community! Some people keep having kids, just so they don't have to work, just to get a bigger council house.

The social state is totally wrong if people can choose when to work and when to claim benefit.

It should be there as a buffer for those who really do have no choice, unfortunately I think we've gone too far to be able to reverse that.

Woah dont get me started there!
With the W-I-F-E being Japanese and myself being 28 and we have a baby born in Poole we still have not got a full UK visa for Maiko. What a joke!
We have to hope she gets accept in March or I will go barmy. We had to prove our marriage was real! Im 28 and about to be a dad FFS!

Maiko has lived here for 7 years and paid every penny of tax and NI she had too.

One other thing that really grates on me.

You'll be walk on the path and there'll be two people together walking towards you. Neither of them will move and it forces you to walk in the road to go around them. EVERY time I walk by two people this happens. Too hard for them to get behind each other? I mean I manage it.

Nearly every f**kin day this happens to me, & it really winds me up.
I am a curteous & polite person (most of the time). I hold doors open for people, I say please & thank you, & I always try to think of other people by keeping to 1 side when I'm with someone when walking on the pavement/path/stairs, so why is it so difficult for others to do so?

I dont want to state certain types of people because I've seen all types guilty of this selfish behaviour.

Its gotten to the point where unless I'm in a super happy mood (which I'm not most of the time) then I will not allow people to people to push me out onto the road. I keep walking towards them on 1 side & most of the time they seem to get the hint & move to 1 side. So far it hasnt resulted in an arguement, but then what can they say?

Ha, I used to make extra effort all the time to make room for others, and IF someone happened to bump into me (just to restate, they walked INTO ME) I would usually end up apologizing...

Not anymore... Last week some geezer smacked right into my shoulder (and the sod almost fell over! ha!) Usually I would have gone overboard with the apologies but he was clearly intent on basing shoulders so bugger him. Why do people get so funny about walking on the path? There's more then enough room for two people, and, well, usually i'll politely step aside for whomever, but when you're talking to a friend or loved one and not aware of others around, why do people remain so stubbornly focused on their path? Quite funny really... Most definitely used to irk me but no more :-)

Something that does irk me, is loud people... People who shout when, in actual fact, you are whispering distance away. Why shout? Why raise your voice? I'm trying to chill, feel at ease... trying to relax after a hectic day... so why are you shouting in my ear! It does my head in, quite literally.

                    QFT

This is what makes me laugh the most about BNP dicks and those who are aligned with their principles (loosely or otherwise). Ignoring for a second the stupidity of branding people foreigners (even if they are born here) simply because of their skin tone, if they got their way and everyone they didn't like suddenly vanished, a lot of what would be left would be the chav types oft moaned about in threads like this. People who deliberately choose not to ever do any work.

Reminds me of another irk of mine. Now, I don't make a habit of walking in the street whilst not looking where I'm going but it happens sometimes (I'm human after all). BUT, when someone who is looking where they are going bumps into me and gets indignant, it does grate. The way I see it, I have an excuse for not seeing them (I wasn't looking at the time), but what is theirs? How do you manage to bump into someone you can see and have enough time to avoid?

I totally understand that mate. Been there myself & apologised for not looking where I'm going.

I hope my previous post didnt come across like that because what I meant was when people can see you in full view of them yet make no effort to even move slightly knowing that you're coming their way. That is the situation I've been in many a time & I dont see why people cant share that vast amount of space like I would do rather than take it all up

You'll pay taxes no matter what, using dolies as a scapegoat, why not mention the politicians and their expenses, have you ever watched the House of Lords in action. Its a big Circus.

I'm not sitting on the fence and I'm not judging, but what has it do with you or anyone else that someone don't work, whilst you're tired with your business, it isn't that individuals fault. Unless of course its the old stuff about working to keep them.
I have no issue with people on the jobseekers benefit, even those that don't actively seek work, the amount you get from it is pathetic anyway, im sure no one on it is really living the life feeling great, I don't envy them that is for sure.
