Argh, I can't believe that I missed free tickets to see Stewart Lee recording the new series of his TV show in December and it was all taking place just two minutes around the corner from where I live.

No slip, someone was in the office all day...

This after I pay extra for 1 day delivery. Not a happy bunny.

who was this? interlink or ****tylink? lol

          Citylink.

To their credit, it doesn't seem to be their fault. I had a slip waiting on my doorstep when I got home. Microdirect shipped it to my billing address, not my shipping address ¬¬

Still, I've had Citylink put my package in a 'safe location' before (my recycling bin).

i see, when i worked for house of fraser we were advised to put people off from ordering things from us via city link as they often ended up broken, especially china / mirrors etc

A handful over the last few days.

                  - The Barclays advert with Merchant providing an incredibly annoying wishy-washy voiceover. How low can you stoop, sir? The whole advert is 100% gash. The uninteresting imagery of two people on a track, the sneering irreverence of the squirrel, the annoying chummy dialogue. Just do one, sucker.

                  - People you work for. Don't make me feel guilty for not dragging myself in when I'm totally wiped out. I'd infect everyone else for starters. Some people, you'd have to have erupting bubonic pustules on your bellend for them to admit that perhaps you shouldn't go in. WTF is this 1802? Am I slave labour inside a dark satanic mill?

                  - I've been well and truly skanked for the last few days, and desperately needed some peace and quiet. This, of course, meant that for 6 hours each day, there's been workmen outside of the house arsing about. Digging paths, re-laying paths, making a paved driveway, rolling paths, hauling piles of crap, the list goes on. Typical. The tossers doing someone's driveway are the worst, though. They dug up the patch of grass and the existing tarmac ages ago, and left it in a huge skip on the main estate in/out road. They came back two days ago to do the drive. What a bunch of noisy, slow ****es. Every little brick thing they HAD to cut. So every 40 seconds there's be a rrrrrrrorrororoorororrrrrrrrrrrorororrrr before a moment of respite. It's been incredibly frustrating to sit through. I should have been getting much-needed peeps, but instead I've been wideawake in the middle of a building site.

                  - Flu. Why can't I taste my favourite foods? Why can't I taste any food? The only sensation while eating was texture. It's put me right off some things. I've hardly eaten as it is, it doesn't help that when I do it's a thoroughly empty experience.

Yes, quite a few irks there really.

What you been doing while off?

                    Comment

Stuff all. Sleeping, feeling sick with tiredness, watching the tv.

No food, no games, no tommy tanks, nowt. A waste of 5 days. I can barely remember Sunday. I got told the derby score a few hours after it finished, and it barely registered before i crashed out again. Urgh, my t-shirt when I woke up was dripping in sweat so much that it's still damp now. I had to scrape it off my back a bit at a time.

For a second I thought you'd moved to Japan!

vp - No, they've been hogging the settee, fighting and generally being complete nobs.

I suppose another irk from the last few days is that fact that my bottom lip is utterly ruined. It must be from all the sleeping, but it's more chapped than a docker's arsehole. There's even different coloured bits on it.

darwock - lol, it's as good a reason as any to stay put! Although I do like japanese sweeties

I thought it was Justin Lee Collins. Has he been mentioned in this thread yet?
