My mate can get me 27% staff discount off an iPad now and it's making me very tempted.

Can you get an external keyboard as that would make it extremely handy for taking into uni?

Unreal3 engine + Rage engine are really going to open up games on the A4 platform.

It's such a shame you can't pair a PS3 joypad with them. That would be the perfect solution imho. Apple should just rip Sony off, and release one. If they're going to do Game Center properly then they may as well do a first party joypad.

I agree on the lame touchscreen controls issue completely. But then I didn't really buy it solely for games.

There is no denying the suck of touch controls, but that citadel thing controls okay for dual analogs....when it comes to action though im sure it will fall down, and the shooters are great, especially space invaders infinity with its one finger approach.

Citadel does control "okay"... but thats because nothing is happening on screen and you're not under any pressure to pull off accurate moves in a hurry. I agree that the screen is fine for a load of games... I just don't think it works well for FPS style. I'm interested to see if Epic / iD can bring any other ideas to the platform though.

Agreed.

I also found NOVA "HD" harder to control on my IPAD, compared to my 3Gs. The ipad is nightmare to hold as a games machine.

Games like angry birds work brilliantly, so I am excited by the visual potential of the Unreal engine, but hope it can be used for games that aren't needing FPS type controls.

A 3d puzzle type/adventure game for example. Even and RPG could work.

I bought the x-gear folio case from ebay for £18+5 postage, considering its £35 in town I'm quite happy. Its got a horrible carbon fibre finish but at least its protecting the thing and I think I prefer it to the official case.



It does amaze me what they think they can charge for these things though *facepalm*
