iPad thread!

I think I'll be fine with my iPad 2 until the next revision, but I do get the impression this new one will be quite impressive in the flesh.

I'm far more intruiged to see what happens next with the iMacs; my Mac Mini is getting to be quite useless now and after a quick play with the 27" models in store the other day I must admit I am very tempted. I had a look at the Macrumors buyers guide, which suggested it's probably best to wait though...

My Core 2 Duo 2008 MacBook can't even run Mountain Lion as there will be no 64bit drivers for the x3100 gfx chip in there.

My Mac Mini is some 4 years old or so, and even with very little actual media on there the hard disk is permanantly clogged from all of the updates. It didn't have enough RAM to move to Lion (I think it was Lion, anyway) either.

I might grab one. I've held off till now even though the ipad2 nearly swayed me. I'm just a bit disappointed the front camera didn't up an upgrade as I'd use this for Skype alot with family in the UK. Seems like an obvious upgrade gone missing to me...

What is good though is bluetooth 4.0 support. If there is going to be any controller support going forward this will surely open up some interesting options for peripherals? I'm just hoping now this points to the iPhone5 having bluetooth 4.0 as well, perhaps a larger screen, semi-decent battery and a tactile game controls add-on that's officially supported. Yes I'm dreaming... But if they did do that they'd definitely mix up the gaming market.

I need an anti-glare filter for it but I'm trying to see if anyone sells a hard one. It's only for reading on the train so I want one I can just lift off when I don't need it(haven't figured out where I'll store it while not using it but I'll worry about that later). It doesn't even need to be marketed as a protector, just a sheet of anti-glare material, as I'd likely need to cut the edges a bit anyway due to my soft case.

Does such an ingenious device even exist?

The in-laws have asked if I'm getting one tomorrow and whether I could pick one up for them since they're on a cruise at the moment. John Lewis are doing 2 year warranty on these and thinking there might be less demand/queue there.

Just need to convince work to let me have the morning off...

Just got a shipment notification email from Apple, my new iPad should be here tomorrow

Still waiting for CEX to process the sale of my old iPad and send me the cash for that though.

The screen makes me think I'll be replacing my iPad 2 quite soon. An iPhone 4 style display on the iPad sounds fantastic to me. Just need to wait until I have time off so I can go and hunt for one.

Mine should be getting delivered to my work tomorrow. Went for a 64g Wifi model in black. Pathetically excited really.

I had a dream last night I was queuing as a joke. Some news crew was filming us and interviewing people so I waited until I was right at the front door and said to the camera "Actually, I've changed my mind" and walked off while people booed me

Got my iPad 3/new iPad. A queue of maybe 200 tops then that was it. I expect they'll probably sell out by close of play tomorrow.

Screen is very nice, not quite as sharp as the iPhone 4/4S but a very big difference compared to the screens before it.
