Shire horses. I've fallen in love with one who lives in a field near me. They're so much bigger and more powerful than regular horses yet even more gentle and intelligent and sensitive, always scanning, always checking you out, it almost feels as if they can read your mind, read your soul, it's kinda spooky, but very lovely.

Had to cancel dinner at my Mum's this evening because I'm snowed under with coursework and slightly behind because I've been co-ordinating a group project. Suddenly my doorbell rang fifteen minutes ago and she'd turned up with a vegetarian cottage pie, spaghetti bolognese and some chocolate to "keep me going", and a forgotten Christmas card from my grandmother that had ?20 inside. Nice end to a stressful day.
