There'll always be people like Bin Laden who only understand violence, he had it coming for a long time.

The world is a little bit better place with this nutcase gone (he won't be personally hurting anyone ever again), but it's worrying if his martyr death will now boost Al-Qaida's ranks with more religious fanatics.

Absolutely. And we should shoot the hell out of those people.

He wasn't forced to become a murdering terrorist, he was a coward who had no problems killing innocent people who had done nothing to offend his precious religion. Killing him was a logical and acceptable choice. He could have enjoyed his daddy's oil millions, but he wanted to die for his cause and got what he wanted after all he's now in paradise enjoying his 1,000 virgins.

As far as I know, it's only 72 virgins. Sucks to be him.

I'm surprised he wasn't at the wedding last week, tbh.

Family members presumably, they'll be able to confirm a familial match. They also did facial recognition with the photos.

I'm not. He wasn't a Tory after all...

I don't agree with the worldview that Nietzsche espoused, but he was right on that one.

Bin Laden - and those like him - are good examples of how one person can mislead thousands, entire nations even. But the blame must also be shared with the people and their failure to think critically.

As above, the family are all on "our side" apart from Osama himself. It must be a bit distressing for them, actually; the last time they heard he'd run off into the hills like a madman and now he's dead and buried god knows where.

I had to laugh at this - http://www.ysearchblog.com/2011/05/0...-search-trends
The question won't be literal in most cases - you might use that search string if you just wanted to know more about him (using that string in Google tells you more about the man).

I can't imagine there was any scenario in which he would have allowed himself to be taken alive.

Maybe not. But we're still monsters. A group of men fly planes into buildings killing 3000 innocent people and we launch a series of wars that have killed over 150,000 innocent people. Whether you're Bin Laden or Obama, al-Zawahiri or Cameron, a 'terrorist' or a western soldier, whether you fly planes into buildings or launch cruise missiles from warships, whether you strap bombs to your person or drop bombs from an F15, what's the difference? They're two sides of the same coin, two sides looking to shape the world to fit their principles, two sides willing to kill and shed blood to see their vision realised. We're no better than the 'terrorists' we fight against, we claim we're on the 'good' side and come up with bull**** excuses and explanations why we have to kill people to achieve our goals, just like they come up with bull**** excuses to justify what they're doing.

This is one the the stupidest things I've ever read.

i sort of get what your trying to say, but surely the difference is the 'good guys' are at least trying not to kill innocent people, whilst terrorists dont really care or fully intend to.

Also the 'chicken and egg; has to taken into account - who struck first

                                Exactly.

Immortal Technique says something similar in this essay which he wrote after the recent announcement of Bin Laden's death. It's worth reading.

The whole scenario is way deeper than Them vs Us or good guys/bad guys.
