After being really pleased with the IR camera I made last time, I've upscaled a little and bought this

bit of a bargain at ?189 from PC World, interchangeable lenses, RAW output and came with a copy of Lightroom 5 which should get be a few quid back as I don't need it.

Removed the IR filter from it (the little blue plate in the picture), only took 10 minutes once I'd figured how to get inside!

Lightroom 5? That's good going. Those Samsung cameras are pretty decent too; they produce some nice pics with old manual lenses and their APS-C sensors. I saw that PC World are selling the Sony A5000 for just over ?200 too which is almost tempting at that price.

However, the postie brought me something else instead. Oh my,

If anybody wants Lightroom, tis ?35 for here. I'll be sticking it on eBay otherwise

Is it version 4 or 5? PC World stuff says it comes with 4.

5D might be old but apparently it still works ...

It says 5 on the disc.

That's a nice picture, but not as sharp as it should be. Does Photobucket compress the photos a lot?

Probably the jpg export that's softening it up a bit, not sure if photobucket processes them further, could be my processing of course as that's from a raw.

I'll take Lightroom 5 off your hands for ?35, gimmie a PM.

Nice buy Marty, which 5D is it, the first one?

Anyway, love FF, think DSLR's will gradually migrate to FF being the norm. Hope so anyway.

Yeah just the mk 1, although I did consider waiting a little bit longer and going with the Nikon D700 instead.

I don't think they will, as the number of FF SLR models hasn't increased, plus the FF format requires a larger body which is actually the opposite of what consumers are asking for.
I think we will start to see more more FF mirrorless cameras with time.

The new Alpha 7 II looks cool. I'm holding off until we see a Canon one so my lenses fit.

Just a quickie I took out of the Window to test the new camera

Waiting for a proper filter to come, as at the moment I can only capture full spectrum light or hold some IR film in front of the lens as I take it, which isn't really practical

Don't know about the other companies but Nikon has been gradually adding FF bodies over the last couple of years, last year the D750 came online. It wasn't that long ago that Nikon only had the D700 along with the pro bodies, we now have D610, D750, D810 and Df.
Don't think any more Nikon non pro FF are slated for 2015 though we might see a D4x.

I do agree with FF mirrorless though, lots of rumours that Nikon are going to bring out a FF mirrorless body and I think it's the next logical step in SLR development.
