Really like the old guy shot, very nice.

Shot my mates wedding last week, was his best man and he gave me the job of all the photography. Was a bit nervous to say the least in making sure there are good shots of his special day for him and his wife, i just took my 35mm 1.8 for my d7000 and all seems ok with some nice shots, so relieved at that.

You've got the 6D and the 7D, with the 6D being better optically due to being full frame and then having GPS and some other consumer features, but the 7D having better auto focus and faster continuous fire.

Then you've got the 5D MK3 which is even more expensive again, has the better optics and the auto focus, but no GPS and is missing various other video modes and stuff.
Why can't they just make one that does all of these things?!

Nikon are just as annoying too, with certain features only being available on certain models.

I would have gone for one of Nikon's full frames as I think their sensor tech is a few steps ahead of Canon for the same price, but they were missing features too and would have required me to move to a new lens system.
I agree, of the two Canon's implementation of wireless is much better - the fact it comes comes virtually as standard is a bonus. With Nikon it's an add-on and even then it doesn't match up to Canon's.

Nikon though do auto ISO miles better than Canon, I have mine on all the time, it's a superb feature.

Revamped my photography website, it's still an early draft but finally looking a bit more modern than the last decade site I had up previously. Not sure how browser compatible it is, but it's HTML5 based so chances are it won't work in some of the older ones.

Nice, what camera/lens combo are you using there?

              Thanks EB, these are from a Canon 50D with a 70-200mm f4 IS L.

I recently bought the Sony Xperia ZL2 (the replacement for the Z1) which is said to have the best mobile phone camera at 20.3Mpixel. How true that is I don't know but it's sure impressive.

Here are some random shots taken with it. All are direct from the phone with no filtering or anything added.

The origional shots are 3840x2160 which you can download via flickr by clicking on each picture.

Is that the same as the Z2? It looks like it does a good job, I've been trying to find a decent deal on one to replace my Galaxy S3.

                    A couple more from yesterday:

There were a lot of different species of butterflies in the woods, I need to go back with my macro lens at some point.

No idea. Is the Z2 that big tablet/phone thing? If so that has a really poor camera. from what I know the first phone was the Z1 then it was discontinued in April followed by the release of this phone in May. It could be likely that in the west this may go under the name of Z2 as it makes more sense than ZL2 as they call it here.

Not a tablet no, it's this one.

Odd, that phone seems to have the same spec's as this one but the camera position on the back is different. My camera is in the center of the phone. Maybe that's the European model? I didn't notice but can that one do 4k video at 60fps?
The actual front and sides of the phone do seem the same though. Same Cpu and camera too with 3gb Ram and 32gb storage with up to 128gb extra via micro SD.

EDIT - The ZL2 is actually an upgrade of the Z2. Check out this side by side spec sheet - http://gadgets.ndtv.com/sony-xperia-...xperia-z2-1310

many of the specs for the ZL2 are wrong though on that site. It says there's no GPS or NFC which is a load of crap. Of course it has GPS and I used the NFC only 2 days ago at McDonalds It also says it's 3G when in fact it's 4G. Stuff like WiFi Direct say "No" when it should say yes and so many other errors. I guess the site didn't have the data at hand when compiling the list. Basically it does everying the Z2 did plus extras or improvements. The ZL2 also had digital TV on it but that maybe limited to Japan.

Looks like the ZL2 is for Japan only - http://thefusejoplin.com/2014/05/son...es-comparison/

Strange that the artical linked above says the ZL2 isn't water or dust proof yet it is. Even states in the manual. Hmm, looks like information was hard to get.

Looks fairly similar spec wise - not that there's really anything wrong with my S3; 4K video would be interesting but hardly a requirement. Will keep an eye out for a good deal.

Another one from earlier this week:

Went back to Fineshade Woods this evening but it was quiet in the fields

                              Nothing but a thistle

                              And some red soldier beetles

But then a Sparrowhawk came along

It was very quiet today though, very little animal life about at all, sometimes you get the foxes and roe dear there :/

I wouldn't want one of those red beetles crawling on my arm, yuck. I hate insects.

I should try and grab a nice shot of Japan's mutant crows. They'd eat a UK one alive they're than big. Quite irenic for a country that loves everything so small.
