I can't get excited about any modern Audi. They are all just so safely boring to look at - good looking to a degree but without any real flair. Maybe it's just the era of the car. If it was an Audi Quattro, I'd get excited

That's just beautiful.
I agree. Most new cars look so similar now. Even the R8 looks similar to the TT.
I'll start with saying that they must have really stepped out of their comfort zone (Mk7) with those horizontal black bits at the sides of the front bumper. Very edgy and the narrow bonnet gap either side of the VW badge is very cool, with the way it goes into the angular lights. The sides of the car make me want to throw up with boredom though.
The Mk2 hasn't survived the test of time that well, with the dodgy wheel arches and the black bumper. Still loads better than the travesty of the Mk3, but that's outside the discussion here. The wheels are timeless and the dual size round headlights are the bomb (so much better than Mk1). Overall shape is exciting but the new models are starting to catch up I think.
I think the reason people find modern Audi (and beemers?) attractive is twofold: 1) They are good looking enough to be admired by most people and no one really dislikes them, so it's a safe bet 2) The drive is meant to be great and the interior is always a step up from all the Japan stuff so you get a good driver experience and value for money.
Just my guess though. Shozuki, would you say that's true or does the look of the car give you wood?
The interiors are definitely a step or six up! The interior of mine is pretty poor really. The clock being the worst offender. It's basically a 50p item from a Maplin catalogue.

on those fronts yeah, I'd say so. The RS7 is one of those cars imo that people know it's a nice car just simply by the badge and other people in the know will (hopefully) know that it's really damn quick and fun to drive.
I mean I need my Sat Navs and Bluetooth etc and I really like Audi's interiors. I guess it speaks to my inner-geek lol.
My car background is all German too which is probably why I keep leaning that way...
BMW 318is (1996 First car!)
BMW 330Ci M Sport (2003)
BMW M3 E92 (2009)
Audi S4 (2011)
Audi R8 (2011)
Audi RS7 (2014)

Mk 1 Cavalier

Focus I think
Mk 1 Discovery
Renault Grand Scenic (worst car I've ever owned)
Another Focus
GT86
Both Focus' were great little cars. Very reliable as mentioned.

That's a short list for a 45 year old I think.
Maybe but you've certainly made it up with the GT86
I absolutely love them, but I have to be sensible & for the next car I still have to have 4 doors...getting Chloe in & out of a 3 door would be a total PITA otherwise I'd already have a Renaultsport Megane R26 lol
