Exclusive licences.

I don't really play football games (despite being a massive football fan), but some mates here want to play FIFA 14 together when the game is finally released over here on the PS4 next year, so I've downloaded the PS3 demo to get some practice in. FIFA has most of the important licences including the top four English divisions,, but wait! PES14 has the Champions League! What to do?

How the hell these kinds of exclusivity deals don't fall foul of anti-monopoly legislation is beyond. In a context such as a sports game, licences are real game-changers. I'm hardly the world's biggest supporter of market-based capitalism, but games should at least have to compete on their own merits rather than these kinds of deals.
