The bloody PS button powering up the PS3 like that. The amount of times I've switched the machine on by accident just by moving - or dropping - the controllers or remote control. And then you have to wait ages to turn it off safely

I much prefer the 360's method of holding the guide button for a second or so.

Muffins. A muffin is basically a cupcake, right?

And a crumpet is a round crispy bread item that is good toasted with butter. Is there ever a case where a crumpet is referred to as a muffin? Over here they call them 'English muffins', and I'm fairly sure that name makes no sense, but I honestly can't remember.

I suppose my irk isn't actually muffins but more the way I'm forgetting so much about life in the real world.

No. A crumpet is a bread based product with lots of 2-3mm holes on the top. Melted butter fills up these holes nicely. A muffin is also a bread product but is more like regular bread but heavier and you slice it open and toast and butter both sides. What other countries call a muffin is actually a cupcake that had too much mixture put in it!

So, the muffins that I bought back in the UK were actually an evil Americanism, and Japan is doing things the right way after all. Good to know!
