I had a Nexus tablet for a job last year and found it intolerable. It was a pretty powerful machine but the interface and navigation was messy. For all my slight irks about lack of progress or actually making some features worse over time, I haven't once found a system as nice and streamlined as iOS.

My phone is a Nexus 5 and I like it a lot. I find its design hassle free for work, and as we use Google Apps at my company its deep Google integration is a benefit. It was also ?300, instead of ?600 for the iPhone. I prefer some areas of it to iOS, particularly the built in calendar application and multitasker/app switcher. However I'm not a fan of widgets and instead have my homescreens laid out with just app icons, like on iOS.
However for my tablet, which is not a work device for me, I have always used iPad, currently an Air 2. From what I've seen of Android tablets the software just still isn't there.

My wife has a Nexus 5 (on vanilla Android Lollipop) and frankly the sheer speed at which you can do stuff is brilliant. It dumps all over phones twice its price just because it isn't running all the carrier and phone manufacturer bloatware. Samsung etc. should just concentrate on making phones and leave the skins in the bin.

With the phones I suppose it depends on what you use it for, when I got my Xperia Z I stripped out any unneeded apps from it and haven't had to do anything with it since. The thought of getting tied into Apples software again and knowingly paying over the odds for an inferior phone is beyond consideration.
