Buying a new PC and the manufacturer has not activated windows 10, nor provided an activation key with the system or in the box, or via email. To top it off there closed over the weekend, the only time i've got to sort it all out and get all my programs installed.

      The joys of PC's ............

That's annoying! Does it not just run for 30 days without a key like the previous ones? Or is it already doing that and running out of time? I'm reading up on Windows 10 and it's rather confusing.

If you upgrade from a previous, it's fine, just instal. If it's a clean new build, you need to pay for a licence as usual, or it should be activated by the manufacturer. Mines not, nor have they provided one with the packaging or inside the case, at all.

Basically you can update, install, use as usual. It just has activate Windows10 in a watermark on every single window, plus it stops you from activating a hotmail, outlook email as your account in the account section.

            Rubbish.

That's literally the last thing you want to be doing if you care about your privacy at all.

Everyone is stealing, selling & monetising your data, this is just a fact of modern society so it doesn't matter who you go with on that front.

Anyway. I'm sending the PC back and will be sticking with my old iMac until next year now. Windows just isn't for me, plus the system I got is noisy as f**k, so will just send it back.

Oh well, you had your last chance Windows, I can't say you didn't get a fair trial over the years.

Isn't it usually on a label on the machine?

Usually, sometimes inside the case etc on a sticker, at least somewhere.

Irk today is technology bought a new phone and thought oh would pop my old sim in it...turns out i needed a nano sim and was thinking when the hell did this come out. And was there really any point to create a new sim and port to save a millimeter.

Actually with tech i sometimes think they putting the cart before the horse first creating stuff that really does not have any point or before the infrastructure is there

Maybe ask your mobile provider if they would replace yours for a new nano SIM? Over here mine at least will do so free

It's still irritating though, so I think it's an irk. SIMs are already really small things.

It really is. Mine's a micro sim with the nano sim cut out in there. Which is nice in a way but it keeps falling out.
