They're debuting the new ad for work's mobile app in the room next door. I can exclusively reveal that it's soundtracked by jaunty ukuleles and inane, simple whistling.

I can't believe that ad agencies just copy this dross and churn it out.

Ad agencies can be very lazy and time is money etc etc.

My irk today, for some reason, this weeks travelcard doesn't work on the barrier machines, so four times a day I have to ask the guard to let me through manually and hold everyone else up.

It depends on budget. You normally end up with ukuleles and whistling if you weren't willing to stump up to license something, as there are reams of that stuff available for free.

My ****ty Samsung LCD that I bought February of this year has developed a fault with the panel. Funny that my 20 year old Sony CRT are still going strong eh? :x

As long as it's not that super-creepy Match.Com advert, with the bloke playing the ukelele to the girl over the other side of the train platform. They end up going on a date; I think you'd find someone would call the police.

The ignore list is a life saver, to be honest.
I like reading stupid comments. Heck I probsbly make a few because of them.

              Hmmmm.

Anyway. Pooing. My body seems to know the minute I get home because I always spend my lunch break in the loo. I'd much rather take a dump on work time.

It's the only way I can claim over time.

Such a waste of money if you aren't being paid for it.

Playing through my last gen backlog (Metro Last Light - PC) and I've gotten the load game/crash to desktop bug, the bug itself isn't the irk.

What irks me is that games being sold through steam have their support abandoned after their initial launch/most profitable periods and steam continues to sell bug laden crap.

I understand the complexities of modern gaming and expect bugs to slip through the beta phase of testing but there's far too many games that are being cynically flipped to unsuspecting customers.

The worst ones that have happened recently to me:

Metro Last Light - Crashing back to the desktop at every load screen
Dirt 3 - Changed the AA settings now there isn't a single displayable menu, can't play the game
Total War games - Multiple problems with AMD FX desktop processors
Thi4f - Random crashes and save game erasing

My opinion is simple, if the games are still for sale, if publishers are still taking money for them then they should still be supported, bug fixes should be being issued at every possible chance.

                    BAH!!! Modern gaming....

                      Modern PC gaming, you mean?

                        No, modern gaming.

I think part of the problem is that PC gaming still has issues with loads of different hardware configurations. Games can only really support what's contemporary when they're released; they can't guarantee support of something 5 years down the line.

One solution would be for Steam to profile your computer, and actually refuse to sell you games that don't support your specific config of hardware - but that would probably result in complaints too.

I don't think this is really a modern problem, because it's just like it was 10 years ago - if you want to play an older game and guarantee it works, you should get the console version or play it on a PC from that era.

True. Virtua fighter 5 (disc version) doesn't work on ps3 anymore.

Pc is way more of an issue though. Stalker no longer works properly. No way am I going to get any support because the devs are out of business I think but valve will still sell.you it. The other one is Cliffs of Dover from ubisoft. That no longer even launches but ubisoft don't give a crap and recently brought out a new entry in the series despite the old one being borked.

I'm doing mgs5 then that's it. Retro console gaming for me.

Tried it a couple of years ago. Wouldn't play (can't remember details). I even formatted the system to try and fix it.
The digital version works but the audio quality on that one is awful.
