This was literally being talked about on LBC and hour or two before it happened though in terms of it being possible but unlikely. Both have a chance of holding a position post-Johnson and are likely to fancy the top job but the foul stench of Johnson is so strong on them that their sole chance is to get out now.

A guy on there was also saying that you only get the loyalty Johnson has seen if you're too incompetent to hold a role under someone else or there is dirt he knows you're hiding. Javid and Sunak are poisoned. If Johnson falls it absolutely needs to be a clean house Cabinet for the Tories to shake his stench of office.
