    Well played

The government just won a vote to take control of the Electoral Commission.
Johnson will now wield ultimate power over another of the bodies designed to hold executive power in check.

      In the same night…

They also passed a law that will see them spend millions enforcing voter ID
To fix a fraud problem that doesn’t exist
And to stop millions from voting
Millions of poorer, typically non-Tory voters

And if you’re angry and want to protest about it…
      Well you can’t…

Because last night they also passed a law to give police the right to arrest “noisy” protesters.

With this power the Tories can say that ALL other parties broke electoral code. And they will.

It's a joke thatruling parties are even permitted to change anything relating to electoral procedures and rules, it's blatant it would only ever result in misuse. If it's even possible for a shift in power to happen in future anymore and it does, Labour needs to not waste a minute undoing all of this

Thing is, they've created a 'ring of power'.
Labour won't toss it into Mt Doom because they'll weald it themselves.

It worth knowing that they are drafting an Anti-boycott bill to prevent anyone from being able to, well, boycott anything.
I have no idea how that's going to work, but there we go.

If it wasn’t so criminal it would be funny, you now can’t boycott an anti boycott bill.

Sturgeon definitely evokes the Frodo imagery of this scenario

Our delusional Walter Mitty style MP who got convicted of sexually assaulting a child has finally completed his resignation process after quietly waiting it out for several weeks so he'd still get paid his full wages for this month (despite doing zero MP work whatsoever for this and many months before): https://www.theguardian.com/politics...nation-process

I suspect the tories didn't want anyone to start looking under rocks of this nature otherwise half the party will probably need locking up.
Better to pay him off quietly.

Why does he have to resign? Shouldn't he have been given the boot immediately for being a criminal?
