My smart meter expects me to use only £11 of energy a week. According to it, that's the average. Bull****.

When it comes up at work the common line of attack seems to be getting stuff in now so the gas heating is literally turned off all winter

I assume you mean insulation, etc.?

Truly I've looked at what would be involved in getting a small solar cell for my front garden, but we live in a rented place so I've realised I could only charge our various USB devices, and it wouldn't really save me much money.

Yep, things like thermal blankets, thick socks, warmer pjs etc. Basically all the stuff that will mean holding off the longest before turning the heating on

World's fifth largest economy, folks, in the year of our lord 2022.

It's about time something kicked off - the Poll Tax riots were over comparatively small amounts of cash compared to this. I wonder what will be the straw the breaks the camel's back? Another OFGEN-sanctioned hike in the cap in Spring 2023? Come summertime we'll start seeing 'the prospect' of this being soft-peddled across the media.

It's hilarious that this £400 to go towards energy bills is going to everyone who owns a home and if you own multiple homes, you'll get the money for each and every one!

If something is dead and rotting, you cut it out. Why is the nation dragging this corpse of parliament around daily?

It's still depressing but I imagine if you own 4 London homes and get 4x £400 you're probably the last person to care about the money...

Because we all know that the first few people who do it are going to spend years in prison for being a nuisance.

                        Also... Obi-wan starts today.

In all seriousness, either people want something to change, or they don’t. The fact everyone keeps these arse clowns in power tells me they don’t, so nothing is going to.

Also, obi-wan, year i’m busy tonight as well.

Be careful guys, because if the Government drop some big new bill on us all, they're gonna do it when a new series starts!

"Right, chums, let's pass this new tax that robs from the poor to give to the rich on Friday, because all the peasants will be to busy watching the release of Obi-Wan AND Stranger Things to notice! Guffaw!"

You joke, but I'm sure there are discussions like this when things like the World Cup is on.

Now I'm a bit confused by this
The way it sounds is the Property owner gets the £400 grant but doesn't make it clear if the property is rented this actually gets passed to the Tennant or stays with the owner

If that's the case then where is the incentive for the owner to give this to their Tennant?

Surely they could just Keep it & pocket it while the Tennant still has the ridiculous prices to pay

Again I could be totally wrong here (I normally am) but that is how it reads to me
