It's hard to explain, but - hmmm...

I'm not sure how best to explain this, because I don't want people to die or be in danger/uncomfortable in the winter.

But part of me does want to see a large number of people default on their energy bills, because I believe, quite strongly, that the political class sees these stories and straight up refuses to believe them.

I seriously think the Tories see this story, and think "oh, they'll just have to sell their massive TV they bought on benefits and not buy their kids pointless gadets for Christmas this year", and chuckle as they talk about mahogany, which fork to use and the Trojan war, or whatever people like that talk about.

Really though, I know what you're saying and, as hard as it might be, I kind of agree. This needs to hit a breaking point. This can't be allowed to continue. And yet I wonder if there is a real breaking point. How much to normal people need to get shafted before something changes?

It definitely feels like the middle classes are being pushed down into the lower classes with people who used to be comfortable now having to use foodbanks.

There's a definite gulf widening between the rich and everyone else.

if this is correct then this is what dontpayuk should be promoting, if you dispute the bill and they refuse to act you can take it to the energy obusman for every complaint they get it costs the energy company £500 to investigate, if you are disputing the bill they are legally not aloud to report you for failing to pay the bill so it wont effect your credit score. if they get too many complaints it affects their ability to trade this seems a far more full-proof way of standing up to the energy company's, Hitting them with massive fines from the ombus man and flooding the ombus man system crippling it with record numbers of complaints.

Some method like this is going to crop up; simply "not paying" isn't going to work. Yes, it might cause a change but it's going to screw up your credit score and that won't go away soon.

i just wonder if their are things in place to stop it going to the deadlock stage, not being happy with your rate and what you are being charged is not the same as an incorrect bill or overcharge, so this is just a guess but maybe they would just go back to you with "this is the rate and this is your bill if you refuse to pay you will be reported as nonpayment"

It's a good job both future PMs said they'll restrict building new renewable energy farms in the UK. Phew! How else could we sink back to the dark ages?

Because wealthy people don't want people to build windfarms outside their house. They bought their houses fair and-

-well, they inherited them.

But they own them nonetheless and believe that things like power generation are best built where nobody cares what happens.

Id heard Rishsi Sunak say he was planning to Take the top five worst towns in the UK build massive walls around them and then flood them to build massive hydro plants.

Reasoning is it will have a three fold benefit: one it drowns lots of poor people who don't vote Tory. Two: it reduces the welfare bill and Three: they can embezzle about 90% of the funds put aside for building these things by awarding the contract to a small dog food company in withshire.
