She has police reports, they just oppose everything she claims
She has a make up case that didn't exist till a year after her claim, but no medical treatment
She does have her legal team appointed therapist to corroborate her claims, based on taking her at her word

What I find most fascinating about the idea of Heard conducting all of this is that she has prior accusations etc from past relationships and it's been years sinceshe was with Depp but he is such lightning rod for her.

You'd think, fair enough, if he abused her in the way she described

The whole thing seems like a huge farce at this point. Surely if (when) she loses this she'll then be financially ruined? I don't think she's had a successful enough career to be able to pay the damages being discussed, has she?

Doubtful, a chunk of it would presumably come from the $7m she got from him in the divorce that she pocketed instead of donating like she claimed she had. Her counter-suit for $100m feels like the Jewel of ****taking at this point

Guys, it’s rare I have any issue with the quality of content here but this is getting a little ridiculous. We all have access to twitter. This thread has taken a complete dive. Can we spin this off into its own garbage dump somewhere? Or at least stick mostly to news sources?

Yeah, I'm guilty of it myself but it probably does need it's own thread.

There's a lot of stuff coming out especially via Twitter but that's why when posting any that have emerged I've stuck to ones that include audio/video as there's undoubtedly more bad faith ones ou there. It's fine if we hold it more back to news links but I'm more of the mind that we don't normally have celeb based threads and as this is America based and currently one of their biggest rolling stories (that has ramifications well beyond the couple), it's an instance where it's very pertinent to this thread and the media coming out via twitter etc is critical because the usual media news outlets are in many cases reporting in bad faith due to their prior reporting and legal implications in the case

Because we so rarely descend into being obsessive about them but, in this case, we clearly have so I would make the case that it warrants its own thread. You could truly go nuts with the title changes.

That's the catch though, there's celeb news every day but this is very distinctly different from that line of news. Likewise with the amount of content, it's heavy not because of obsessive nature but because we've had nearly eight hours of new news and material and follow up on a daily basis. If there was a sense that this was a bitter divorce case or Depp's culpability was higher etc then I doubt we'd see this happening but because we're seeing the likelihood of severe perjury and female on male abuse carried out in a never before seen scale of openness it's a massive story and heavily followed/reported on.

Well I guess that’s it in a nutshell really. The reason to revel in every moment is that this is a woman in the wrong. I still maintain that this needs its own thread. Trump is probably the only other person ever who got this much attention here and he was President and could affect all our lives on a whim. This is endless celebrity gossip.
