Apropos of nothing, does anyone know of Canada’s 1993 federal election? The Canadian Tories went from being the governing party to having just 2 seats in the House of Commons, and never had a prime minister again.

So the chancellor has just taken a big **** on every aspect of the PMs economic policy that she won the leadership on. Looking forward to the awkward squirming in PMQs on Wednesday, if she lasts that long.

We have registered as new Tory members:
a pet tortoise
two foreign nationals
a fictional Margaret Roberts (Margaret Thatcher’s maiden name)
A £25 membership fee was accepted in each case, a membership number issued and all have been invited to introductory meetings and election hustings.

The IFS cuts through the Jeremy Hunt Show today by pointing out the blistering obvious - cancelling a failed and terrible economic plan does not in of itself actually constitute now having a plan at all and neither does it plug the £32bn hole the Tories have now created for the nation

Real strong and stable leadership here from Truss we've had a week of turmoil where shes been massively absent and made it looks like Hunts running the show now.
How dose she show shes still in charge? she sends a sub to PMQ to reinforce that shes not in charge anymore and create even more speculation on when she will be stepping down.
it would have been a real powerplay if Stammer sat down and let his deputy respond and ask questions on his behalf and just sit their looking distant and uninterested like what this person is saying isn't important, maybe even have a Reese Mogg style nap.Last edited by Lebowski; 17-10-2022, 15:10.

I was very surprised at Hunts speech I thought he did well (Kwarteng was useless), in comparison Reeves is awful - how old is she five?
Time will tell how things go until the doomed government is removed, he did blot his workbook by not guaranteeing a sextuple lock on the pension but we can't have everything.
