I wouldn't mind if the people who grew, reared, produced our food saw an uplift in their profits. From what I can tell, they get almost as screwed as the end consumer.
The likes of Tesco and Co are very short sighted, if all people can afford the basics in their stores then they are going to see a massive fall off in people buying things like expensive electronics, Tesco mobile phones, and clothing, Their going to push customers down the chain to budget super markets like Aldi's and Lidil.

If the supermarkets aren’t forced to pay more to the farmers then we won’t have a food supply chain left in the UK. Diesel for farm equipment, the equipment itself, animal feed, seed, electricity, are all going up all the time, the farmers need to be paid a lot more to ensure we have basic necessities like food.
