Those who support him count just the same, though. There are definitely people who voted for Trump, the first time, out of exasperation with the typical political options, and did it to "throw a brick through the Whitehouse window", or out of some kind of joke. But every vote's a vote, at the end of the day; the reasons don't matter when Donald Trump, of all people, is somehow president of the USA.

The Republicans really need to find sometime to reflect on themselves even if Trump ultimately wins the election. In any scenario it's an utterly dire reflection of the rest of the party in terms of where they're politically at and also how extensively unappealing the public finds them. If Trump serves a second term, what does the party do when he can't run again? When even the candidates who try to ape him can't replicate even an ounce of his voting appeal.

DeSantis going to war with Disney hasn't worked out for him at all, threatening one of Florida main source of income what was he thinking, its laughable that he's dropping all his cases against Disney and asking them to do the same and they have said nope see you in court.

Looks like its gonna be round two for confused old man vs old man Grifter. it feels like Trump is not gonna not go away until he gets his second term, so its either 4 years of him or hes wheeled out again in 4 years time

He completely looses where he is, Ive seen that look before the smile and the nervous laugh, its like hes suffering with dementia. its like his handlers know this and try and bluff their way out if it by saying that the journalist need to speak up.

They were asking Mitch McConnell there if he was going to run for re-election, I'd be surprised if he isn't in a care home by the look of him. I've seen that glazed-over panicked expression so many times before and every single time it was the beginning of the end. He's 81.

Why are senior American politicians so old generally? Even "young" Trump is 77. There's so many reasons somebody that age shouldn't be doing it - I live on a street where most of the people are retired and they can deteriorate so quickly. In about a year, my neighbour went from living completely independently and completely all there to genuinely going crackers and being found crawling down the street on her hands and knees at 6am because she wanted to go to a shop that didn't even exist.

Having such a high-pressure job at that age is just begging for trouble and I think it's peculiar that you'd even want to do it rather than spend what could be your last years enjoying your life and spending time with your family and friends rather than making decisions that you'll unlikely to ever know what the long-term consequence was.

Really scares me watching those videos because it makes me worry about my Mum and Dad.

On a more global note, it's absolutely bonkers that such key US leaders are of such an advanced age. And this isn't a new thing. Reagan had his finger on the nuclear button when he had dementia.

In a way it hopefully could be positive that we're at the extremes of McConnell and Feinstein because it's brought the issue to the forefront and now there is some outcry in the US about it.

Even photo's of McConnell from just a very short time ago highlight the physical deterioration he's gone through, he's not long for the role whether he likes it or not.
