He's talking about the actions of Israel as a country, its creation happened post Holocaust, so don't get your logic.

Twitter, erm X, post by a non Israeli Jew, and have to say, it's pretty much on point for my own thoughts.

Lie with passion and be forever damned...

I don’t disagree with most of that. None of us on the outside want to see the civilian deaths going on, or this constant war. He’s despondent about the possible solutions, because the two state solution is as dead as it can be, and that was the best way out of this mess. If only the Oslo accords hadn’t failed, this would likely all be a memory.

UN spokesperson says such a movement would have ‘devastating humanitarian consequences’ as Israel prepares for a ground offensive; Palestinian death toll rises to 1,537, according to Gaza’s health ministry

Israel will continue to ensure Gaza receives no water, power or fuel until Israeli adbuctees are returned. Likewise they will block all humanitarian efforts for Gaza's citizens

“Humanitarian aid to Gaza? No electrical switch will be turned on, no water hydrant will be opened and no fuel truck will enter until the Israeli abductees are returned home. Humanitarianism for humanitarianism. And no one will preach us morality.

The British Metropolitan Police have rejected Bravermans calls for holding the Palistian flag to be an offence stating that where behaviour goes beyond accepted levels they will act but that support for Palistinians should not be equated to support for Hassan.

BBC doing a lot of reporting today on indiscriminate strikes against Gaza civilians, but falling short of calling it war crime so far.

The Human Rights Watch accuses the Israel Military of deploying white phosphorus weapons in Gaza, Israel outright denies the accusation

Hamas have really s**t in the frying pan and the fire here. If their strategy was to actually take territory from Isreal because they saw an opening then that was always doomed. If their strategy was to cause international outrage because of the backlash on Gaza, well that’s going to massively backlash on them as well, as when Isreal clear Gaza out now (and they will) Hamas will be shot on site if they flee, or burned alive as holdouts, the Israeli army either way is done messing around.

I think Hamas had just taken enough and said **** the consequences and just went for it. Not a sensible move of course

Yeah, besides striking at those they clearly hate, I can't see how they expected to 'win'. Even if their leaders are safe underground or elsewhere entirely, were they completely indifferent to the inevitable suffering of thousands of palestinian civilians? Would they have chosen the martyrdom they're receiving?

They never wanted and they will never want to take territory from Israel (at least not in the common sense, like what Putin is doing in Ukraine), they want to see Jews eradicated, and this is driven by insane religious zealotry. This is why they attack a militarily superior enemy and it's also why they make for a dangerous enemy that will be near impossible to completely defeat. They are not a standing army that will surrender against impossible odds, they would rather blow up for their cause taking as many Jews with them as they can, and they don't care about civilian casualties because, again, their religious beliefs make any kind of Islam casuality a martyr and therefore worthy of paradise.
Israel can wipe the Gaza strip clean, but this will not stop Hamas' beliefs, they will simply relocate and adapt terror tactics that will keep Israel in a state of constant tension.

Lol, their leaders and ultimately bank rollers in Iran are not going to step anywhere near the fighting, I would be surprised if the local Hamas leaders went anywhere war the actual fighting.
