Mike Johnson becomes fourth Republican to be nominated for US House speaker this month | House of Representatives | The Guardian
Johnson has previously spoken favourably of Democrats and Nancy Pelosi and was also the lead Republican campaigner in efforts to overturn the 2020 election results so... this should go really well for the R's.

3D printing guns isn't really a problem yet. This was something that came up in and around the murder of Shinzo Abe, because the killer used a home-made gun.
3D printing a gun is actually quite easy; however, it will only be lethal from close-range, can only really be fired once. Then there's the ammunition; if you're in the UK, you can't buy it (if you can, you can probably buy a gun!) and making your own is harder than making the gun.
Point is that for the things a person would do with a 3D-printed gun, they could use something much more accessible like a knife. And if they have the skills to make a good one, 3D-printing isn't a problem; that person could make a firearm via various other home methods.
Governments will ban it etc. because they want to look like they're doing something.
