At the risk of going down that rabbit hole, was there a single photo of the wound? He was hit with a fairly heavy duty weapon so I get people questioning it at least.

I looked into it. The pictures are somewhat scattered, I mean, it was a fast-moving situation. But there was a reasonable amount of blood. The point I guess I was making was that people were equating "lots of blood" to "no obvious wound" a few weeks later.

But it's a head wound; it's really easy for even a small laceration above the neck to produce a lot of blood. I got cut when I was 10 (hit by a toy sword) and **** a brick because in seconds my whole arm was covered and dripping in blood. Fortunately the kid who hit me was the doctor's son so he was able to look at it and honestly, the cut was the smaller than a grain of rice, and literally 3-4 days later any sign of it was gone.

Things is, whatever about that one thing (and it does seem like the ear wound has never been seen), Trump and his people are serial liars. For me, that sort of shifts the burden of proof and I don’t think anyone could be considered a nutcase for not taking them at face value. I mean, we don’t buy the cats and dogs thing and that doesn’t make us conspiracy theorists

From what I’ve read his wound was caused by something the bullet passed through, that then came back at him a bit, glass or plastic, something like that, few places say glass, there zero evidence the bullet even hit him.

Take from it what you will, really - I guess you could say they faked any ear damage after.

Honestly, I don't think it's particularly relevant one way or the other. I think it's vanishingly unlikely that the shooting itself was fake and frankly there are so many (SO MANY) demonstrably true things to criticise Donald Trump for that it's not particularly helpful to focus on the exact nature of his ear damage.

Concerned about how America is vanishing into conspiracy theories also.

I see tons of noise online about them.

Trump's nutcases say that Harris was wearing bluetooth headphones during the debate (she wasn't; her earrings were from Tiffany).

Democrat nutcases are saying Trump's first assassination attempt was real, but Trump wasn't actually hit because there's no sign of a wound now (which is also daft; even tiny cuts on the ear can bleed a lot, so even if the shot just grazed him that would account for the blood).

Yeah, conspiracy theorism is, in my opinion, a massive problem in the US in particular and is actively, seriously harmful to the democratic process.

It's been building steadily for the past decade and when we see the left (such as it is - the mainstream left in America obviously being right of centre) tarrying with it as well, that is very troubling.

I've had friends say to me about Donald Trump supposedly paying people to attend his rallies and that kind of pisses me off honestly.

I doubt he does, for one thing, but more importantly it's just a distraction. There is so much real, provable horrible **** about Donald Trump that musing about stuff that probably isn't true - and even if it were, is literally not even nearly as bad as much of the other **** he actually has done - is just not useful.

Clinton was leading Trump by over 6% in the polling, Harris is leading 2-4%, it's margin of error stuff - it'd be a huge error to rule out Trump's chances of winning, it's still pretty much 50:50

Clinton still won the popular vote by 4.3%. She lost because of the vagaries of the electoral college.
